Growing up in the Magic Valley has introduced and involved me with many agricultural related activities and jobs. I have raised heifers for the county fair, raised sugar beets for the market, sold steers at the local auction, and many other agricultural related activities. I have found many enjoyable aspects of agriculture that have given me life experiences and lessons that will benefit me and others for the remainder of my life. Agricultural industries are full of men and women that have earned reputations for hard work, efficient labor, and innovative ideas. I have always admired these qualities in many of my mentors and role models. People with these qualities were the ones that first sparked my interest in agriculture. Once sparked I …show more content…
The ability that we as humans have to be able to accomplish this continues to amaze me. Advances in genetically modified organisms, new technology, specialized pesticides, and many others areas continue to increase the efficiency of one acre of land. Every business, farm, and individual in agriculture has there our unique way of applying these to make their operation as efficient and successful as possible. As I continue my education after high school, I hope to be able to secure a career in the agricultural field. If I was able to carve out exactly how it would end up, I would begin my own agriculture business. This would allow me to have constant interaction with many in the community, and be able to admire and also give back to the individuals that helped me get to where I am today. Being involved in FFA and living around multiple individuals that are heavily involved in agriculture has blessed me with many opportunities. Through the FFA, I have learned new skills such as fabrication, service, and leadership. These have become possible because I had advisors and mentors that gave me opportunities to shine and
Now this is the kind of question a mother wants to hear from her children. Not 'Can I play on the interstate?' or 'If I eat this will I die?' Something, instead, wholesome and good. An activity that not only teaches, but puts fresh produce on her table.
And so Malthus was proven wrong in the fact that human population would outgrow man’s ability to grow food. But in his defense, I’m sure he never imagined that an acre of land could be tilled with a 560 hp John Deere tractor in approximately 3 minutes. Never before has an acre of land been able to be worked on in such a short amount of time. Agriculture has changed dramatically over the last century and will continue to improve. Precision farming is the way of the future, and efficiency is the key.
The small farms of America are scrutinized every day for what they grow and raise. Most of the small farms around America go through more and more regulations because the big farming corporations are able to pay the government off so they can grow and raise there items their own way. When most people look at small farms they see organic and healthy; for big corporations, though, a lot see short cuts and GMO's. Peter Singer also calls large corporate farms "factory farms" because they just keep growing and never stop but in the eyes of many that's ok. Shouldn't a small farm should have a right to farm what they want also, because of the good they can do for their community. So Americans should start buying organic and local because it can grow
Agriculture—it’s something that not very many people know much about. However, it is important for us to survive. Almost everything in our everyday lives is agriculture-related, from the food you eat to the clothes you wear.
If I were a farmer on a small piece of land in England during the eighteenth century and got word about an opportunity to start my life over again in the New World, I would go for it. After reading the documents about Pennsylvania from this time, I think the chance of becoming more successful than I would be in England outweighs the risks that come with relocating to an uncertain land across the ocean. If I decided to immigrate, there would be doubts and fears in my mind from all of the uncertainty that surrounds my future. The documents seem to indicate to me that Pennsylvania is the best poor mans land in America for a variety of reasons including abundant jobs, resources and opportunities to become self sufficient.
In Genesis 1:29, God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.” From the beginning God has given us food for life. Plants, meats, trees, and fruits are offered to us as a means of sustenance from the very same God who made them long ago.

Our world is growing! Growing in population, that is, but the resources are staying the same. To help with the growth of the population that will be happening in the 21st century, science and agriculture need to work hand-in-hand. They need to stand together to make a break through together, to ensure that everyone has food on their plate. We need to work to have larger yields with the land we have.
The growth of the world’s population has led to a growth in animal agriculture, because as population grows, the need for food does as well. Animal agriculture is the use of animal farms to produce animal products that are then consumed by the general public. As agribusiness expands, issues such as the need for farm insurance and animal rights have received more awareness. Modern day industrialism is being applied to animal agriculture in developed nations such as the United States and Canada. Farm Foundation, a nonprofit organization focused on research in agribusiness and improving the economy through agriculture, claims that “the North American livestock industry is expected to
