Choosing a career is one of the most important decisions a person has to make in their life, as that is what they will have to do to support themselves throughout their lifetime. Although there are millions of different job opportunities throughout the world, when choosing a career choice, I knew it had to be something I had a passion for, something I would really enjoy and wouldn't mind doing for the rest of my life. I knew it had to be a job that there would be no end to and that the world will always have employment for." Passion is the difference between having a job or having a career," they say, and that is quite true. Choosing a job as a nurse, I know I will never have to work a day in my life, as it would only be another hobby added on to my list. Ever since I was a little girl, I remember going to my mother’s job with her and recall seeing her in her forest green scrub every morning sharply at 6:00 a.m.; she is a nurse at a nursing home. That is where my passion for nursing began. Seeing her walk into Pruitt Healthcare at Lilburn and everyone greeting her with that immense contentment, and her greeting them back as well with such joy was very heartwarming and made me think to myself "I want to be just like my momma when I grow up!" While I was at the nursing home, I remember I used to be my mother's little helper, I would pass …show more content…
her all the equipment she needed such as the stethoscope or the blood pressure cuff. In fact, I would sometimes pretend to check some of the patient's heart pulses with the stethoscope. I would also help my mother pass out trays to some of the patients during lunch time, and have some fascinating conversations with them, Taking several visits, still to this day, to that nursing home, has made me realize that that is indeed what I want to do. Nursing requires one to have admirable traits such as empathy, compassion, and commitment and it is virtues like these that inspire me to pursue the nursing field. I have always been a deeply caring person, putting others before myself and having the strong desire to help. I love the satisfaction of helping others and I want to be able to witness and share in people’s lowest and also highest peaks. I believe that no matter how a person helps another, one can have the opportunity to make a positive impact on a person’s life. As I visited that nursing home frequently, it was very heartbreaking to see that many of the patients there didn't have anyone in their lives to visit and worry about them; I truly desire to interact with people, not only as their nurse, but also as their friend. My whole life I have always wanted to do something where people would remember me, and being a nurse, I will be able to make a positive impact in many people's lives which is, ultimately, a goal I want to accomplish each day of my life. While I am finishing my last high school year, it's about time I start thinking through and begin accomplishing my future goals.
After graduation, I will go straight into college without taking any breaks in between. Education is extremely significant to me, and therefore, it is my first priority. I must perceive a high education in order be able to work in a tremendous, known hospital, such as Grady Hospital , which is one of my ultimate goals. One day, not very far from now, I hope I can open my very own clinic that will include a rehab center as well. This clinic/rehab center will be open to anyone and everyone in the
community. Although career choosing can be quite difficult, I am lucky to have been influenced by someone very special. I am aware that I have big goals I want to accomplish, but I also know that my ambition to make a difference is much bigger! My dreams and motivation are my objects to strive. I know for a fact that later on in life, I will not regret the career I have chosen.
I have imagined myself in several different careers that have interested me as I've been growing up, from styling hair to being a fashion designer, and even a professional singer. Now, even though it is crazy to believe time has flown by so fast, I am at the age where I am deciding what I want to major in. Even though all of those professions I have listed above were very interesting, there was one job when I was growing up that I knew would be a stable and interesting profession: a nurse practitioner. I have always been interested in health sciences and seeing as though I'm familiar with a doctor’s office/hospital setting due to being born with a birth defect, I felt that nurse practitioner was the most suitable job for me. Nurse practitioner would be a good career choice for me because they are paid well, are in high demand, do many interesting things, and they can work in multiple different settings.
goal began as I watched my grandmother serve others. I accompanied her when she visited nursing
I am currently planning to attend Richland Community college and graduate as a registered nurse. The reason I chose this career is because helping out others has always driven me forward. I want to study something that I know I will be content doing for the rest of my life and registered nursing is the right choice. Being a nurse has a many perquisites, but my choice has nothing to do with the advantages that it will provide me with. It is more about the fact that I have the chance to make people who are ill feel better and also to hel...
A career in the medical field is always evolving, and always needing more hands. I knew from a young age that helping people is what I was meant to do, and from then on out every step I took was the way to a successful career in nursing. It is a profession that allows you to see people at their worst, all while helping them become their best. The most important task for nursing students is to create a clear pathway for our education, and to be sure to follow that plan accordingly. When choosing this career, I had to access my own strengths and weaknesses and really establish clear goals for myself and evaluate if I had what it takes to be a part of this diverse and skilled profession. I also decided not only not only do I need to set professional goals for this career, personal goals are important as well.
There is nothing comparable with the happiness of knowing my purpose in life. Nursing is a career where you can never stop evolving. Being a nurse gives me a sense of personal fulfillment that brings challenging experiences every day. It is a profession that demands zeal and the devotion to play an important role in health care.
What if I said that being a Christian with a love for missions made me a better and more
I believe that Nursing is a profession that is unique to the individual. My reasons for choosing such a profession is due to the fact that I have a desire to help others. Growing up with a very sick parent of whom I traveled back and forth over the years to many physician offices, lead me to develop my career path at an early age which was nursing. I watched the many doctors and nurses providing care to my mom in such a compassionate way, and as a result of the kindness they showed my sibling and me, I was very much aware this was as some may say, “my calling”. I had a conversation with my mom and told her that one day I was going to be a nurse so that I could care for her in the same manner that I saw the nurses and physicians caring for her. I wanted to
Nursing is a promising career that offers many rewards to caring individuals. It is more than just a job that one attends day to day. Nursing is a career that kind people get in to because they are passionate about life and everything is has to offer. They care for people they have never met before in such a way that makes the patient feel comfortable and able to relax. In a way that makes it possible for the patient to recover from whatever they have encountered. If I am going to spend valuable time and money on education, I want to a job that I absolutely love. I want to have the satisfaction of knowing that my job is safe even when times are rough. Interviewing Jennifer H, a Registered Nurse at a local Banner facility really helped me get insight on what the position has to offer. I have encountered many people who are not passionate about their job and just show up for a paycheck; choosing a job in the medical field provides people with the same check, but also offers job security, advancement opportunities and numerous benefits for the employee and their famil...
For me, there was no divine intervention, no following in the footsteps of an admired family member, but actually a growing passion for nursing and realizing it would be the perfect career for me. I believe that my main source of inspiration to become a nurse comes from an instinctive desire to help and care for people in their time of need. I am the type of person who loves to be challenged and I always need a new goal to achieve, so nursing and its growing field will always give me new challenges and the ability to care for people. I have been blessed with meeting a few nurses that have become close friends of mine and inspired me to continue my pursuit in the nursing field.
As I reflect on the memorable moment that inspired me to pursue nursing, it seemed like yesterday when I was sitting in the hospital waiting room in tears, feeling confused and lost. My eldest sibling had been diagnosed with schizophrenia. In the blink of an eye, I felt like I lost a part of him and all of our childhood memories just completely vanished. During that moment a nurse entered the room placed her hand on my shoulder. She spoke comforting words and reassured that my brother was under the best possible care. Her simple presence and kindhearted words brought light to that tragic day, she made me feel like everything would be okay. It was then that I realized nurses are more than just healthcare professionals, they are caring and compassionate people who uplifts your spirits in times of need. So five years later, I am writing this essay pursuing my life-long goal of becoming a nurse. It brings feelings of joy to know that the empathetic and compassionate nature of that nurse greatly influenced my desire to help others. From that moment forward, I knew nursing was the right pathway for me.
The career i chose is a branch of the medical field. I chose a career in nursing, more specifically the career path of a registered nurse. This career consists of providing care for people of all ages and helping them with managing their conditions. I chose this career because my mother is an rn and my family has a strong presence in the medical field. It is important to understand the education or training requirements, skills, or talents needed, salary, benefits offered, and the duties for a particular career when making this decision.
My reasons for selecting a career in nursing stem directly from my desire to help our prospering population and community. This career appeals to me because it embodies what I strive to become, a person of influence, a guide, a respected adult, a mentor, and a person that can be trusted and looked up to with great passion. Another reason for selecting a career in nursing has a lot to do with my current job position at Generations Elder Care. Working with the elderly community at this personal care home has enriched my life in many ways, including one for my passion of learning more about the nursing field. As I shadowed the nurses entering the facility I watched them do their assessments on the residents which has peaked my curiosity. I believe being a nurse presents daily challenges which are unique, interesting, and rewarding and that is another reason why I want to become a nurse. Knowing that I have helped someone in some way possible gives me a feeling of fulfillment and enjoyment that I never understood or had before. And this career offers just that, and that is exactly why I...
At the age of 36, mom decided to return back to college to obtain her nursing degree. This wasn’t a hard decision for her to make. The April before she enrolled in school my great grandmother passed away. This major dilemma played a major role in mom’s returning back to school. She had taken care of my great grandmother for months before she passed away, and decided that she wanted to make an impact on the lives of geriatrics.
Nurses: they are one of a kind. In times of considerable hardships from school, I remind myself why I want to be a nurse as my motivation. In middle school, I chose nursing as my career path for various reasons. First and foremost, to me, there is no better feeling than the one that comes from helping another human being. I strongly believe that being helpful is my best quality and I often go out of my way to help anyone in need. Secondly, I know the amount of pain and sorrow that a person can experience when their loved ones are sick or facing death. I want to not only help patients get better, but I also want to offer a significant amount of emotional support to the patient and his or her family. Another reason that I'm dedicated to the nursing
