My Career Path Of Nursing

Nurses: they are one of a kind. In times of considerable hardships from school, I remind myself why I want to be a nurse as my motivation. In middle school, I chose nursing as my career path for various reasons. First and foremost, to me, there is no better feeling than the one that comes from helping another human being. I strongly believe that being helpful is my best quality and I often go out of my way to help anyone in need. Secondly, I know the amount of pain and sorrow that a person can experience when their loved ones are sick or facing death. I want to not only help patients get better, but I also want to offer a significant amount of emotional support to the patient and his or her family. Those who work in a hospital must follow protocol and be tremendously organized in order to avoid any kind of trouble. I mention this because being organized is a task that I enjoy and one of my remarkably good skills. I believe that organization, regulations, laws and protocols are precursors to success, order and achievement. At any rate, I know that being a nurse is the right career path for me.
In October of 2015, I decided to attend Texas State University in hopes to then get accepted to the St. David's School of Nursing and transfer to Round Rock. After attending a couple of St. David’s School of Nursing meetings, repeatedly checking their website, reading their values and viewing the National Council Licensure Examination pass rates, I was- and still am- very determined to attend this school. It is really obvious that the staff, advisors and nursing board truly care about their student's success. By browsing through the photo galleries and viewing all of the events that the program takes part in, I can tell that the St. David's School of Nursing is not only a school but a community too.
