The Office, originally a British television series that ran for two seasons, inspired an American version also titled The Office. Parks and Recreation was initially written as a spin-off to the US The Office before becoming its own show. The Office is the Dunder Mifflin paper company branch in Scranton, Pennsylvania, managed by the infamous Michael Scott. Parks and Rec is about the Parks and Recreation Department in the fictional town of Pawnee, Indiana. It is directed by Leslie Knope. The two shows are similar because of the shared workplace mockumentary format and shared writers such as Greg Daniels and Micheal Schur. Everything Creed does or says makes me crack up, but he hardly ever speaks. Don't get me wrong, I love both shows–just not equally, and sometimes when proving why Parks and Rec is better, I don't mind criticizing The Office. For me, it's not entirely what I think is funnier; though, I did laugh 100 more times at Parks and Recreation than I did at The Office. It's entirely the character. I know The Office is supposed to have a bunch of weird characters, and that is what makes them so funny, but I love every character in Parks and Recreation. I wish I could have the extremely caring Leslie as a friend, or Ron as a boss, or Andy to
