This letter is to notify you about a problem I had at the Atlantic Parking Garage located at The Veridian in Silver Spring, Maryland on April 27, 2018. I am completely dissatisfied with the parking attendant working the evening shift at this location. Around 9:00 pm, I was leaving the parking garage to attend a prior obligation. Previously, I have had no problems entering and leaving the facility by way of a parking attendant letting me out using their key card. This particular evening, the parking attendant was overly confrontational and aggressive which made me feel incredibly unsafe in that environment. When I could not locate the requested documentation in my car, the attendant proceeded to verbally assault me for approximately 20 minutes and refused to let me out of the parking garage, essentially holding me hostage. Additionally, the attendant accused me of lying when I told him that another parking attendant let me into the garage previously, saying that the key cards do not work for entering the garage. I told the attendant multiple times that I would agree to rectify any problems at a later date (as I’m a resident of the Veridian and could return to discuss this situation at any other time), but that I needed to leave the building immediately because I had a prior time sensitive obligation. He refused my request to let me leave multiple times, only letting up when I agreed to pay an arbitrary amount that he decided on, as he did not know how long my car was in the garage for since I was not required to get an entry
