According to biocab.org, “If the world population continues growing at an average of three children by couple, the global population for 2050 will be of 10.5 billion inhabitants, from whom 7.7 billion will suffer for extreme poverty, lack of fresh water, hunger, illnesses, etc.” Other than that, we were talking about how to explain overpopulation with better training, sex instruction, and tax breaks. We all should think about this problem and make our future

He talks about how if there are more people then there is more food that needs to be produced then ate. There are many problems that occur when the population of a community gets too big. When there are a lot of people in a community, they rely on crops and farms to make more food to feed all the hungry people. But if there is a bad harvest or a natural disaster that happens and destroys food. Then a lot of the overpopulated community can die of starvation. Another thing that happens with a higher population is there is more crime.

Today we live in an imperfect world where there are so many problems that we face day to day. In The Giver by Lois Lowry, the characters live in a time where all the world problems had been solved, without having to fear of any more arising in their regulated communities. One of the main troubles in our modern setting today is overpopulation. It has led to countless other complications like depletion of natural resources, pollution, and has made large conflicts and wars. Overpopulation in developing countries puts a major strain on the resources that are necessary in order for that country to thrive. “Conflicts over water are becoming a source of tension between countries.” The communities in The Giver also had many problems of their own with overpopulation before they entered Sameness and lived in Elsewhere. “Centuries back. The population had gotten so big that hunger was everywhere. Excruciating hunger and starvation. It was followed by warfare.” In both The Giver and our world today, we have many problems with overpopulation in common.
Overpopulation has become a drastic issue, for no one knows how many people the earth
Humans have greatly impacted the global environment. Throughout the course of history, human populations have rapidly increased. Especially in Africa, these numbers have reached extraordinary proportions. Out of all the continents in the world, Africa’s population is increasing the most. The type of growth here is exponential. “Overpopulation is a condition when an organisms numbers exceeds the carrying of its ecological niche.” The growth rate of a population is equal to the birth rate minus the death rate. Therefore, for overpopulation to occur, the birth rate must surpass the death rate (Wiley). The current population of Nigeria is estimated to be 155,215,573. Most of the population consists of the younger generation. More specifically, 41% of the population is between the ages of 0-14. 56% of the population is between the ages of 15-64. However, only 3.1% of the population is 65 and over. This age group represents a very small part of the population. (CIA)
Humankind will always have to overcome challenges. Three key challenges that we are currently facing and require immediate action are overpopulation, land use, as well as cultural conflicts. These issues have been prevalent topics in the media in recent years. Unless we start taking the steps to address these concerns, we will continue to see these topics in the media for years to come.
Overpopulation Problems in China In spite of the great achievements that China has achieved in the recent years, our country is still a developing country, which is facing many serious social problems. The most serious of all is overpopulation, for it has a passive influence on the national economy, education and environment. First and foremost, overpopulation is the main obstacle to the economic development in China. The limited natural resources in China can hardly support the excessively large population.
The world as we know it is slowly being depleted of its natural resources. Habitats are being destroyed, and wildlife animals are facing extinction, these are just a few of the effects of over population. Over population not only affects nature and the planet but the human way of life. Imagine a world where the water is polluted, the soil produces no crop and the air is so toxic that we can’t breathe; this is where the world is heading. Due to the fast growth of people, humanity itself faces great danger. There are solutions to over population such as Family planning and sexual education.

We as individuals do NOT understand the problems with overpopulation. We do not take the time or the effort to be educated enough; therefore we do not help in the prevention of future problems to keep our society as it is now.
Seven and a half billion. Enough steps to walk around the globe a hundred and sixty times. Our planet is trying to provide and sustain for a colossal number of people which is expanding every single second. Now the concern that has been put forth by scholars come from the idea that the consumption and effects to our planet by our current society is an international security risk that greatly compromises the future generations. Confucius even mentions this at the earliest start of civilization by saying:
This leads to the lack of resources in many areas. When expanding, we create a lot of pollution in the air, water, and land. Pollution affects many human health. Overpopulation is doing more harm than any other environmental issue. Overpopulation also causes many of the other issues we are dealing with.
Our world is too small for our ever-risingly growing population. One day, resources will run dry and vanish, which will bring death and loss to all nations on this planet. Many researchers and scientists have confirmed that the population will reach 10 billion by the end of the century and will continue to stream upward. There are many different ways of trying to decrease population, contain global warming and assist our environmental changes. The only way to succeed, families must be the regulators of their fertility and future.
