Failure is an obstacle everyone faces during their lifetime. Everyone deals with failure differently. Choosing to succeed and not accepting failure allows me to fulfill my life’s dreams. How I choose to deal with failure in my life will determine my life’s success. Failing does not mean that I will not succeed. Although some people get discouraged by failure, I believe that failure has made me a better person because when I failed at summer camp, I became determined to make it a positive lesson in my life. It never occurred to me that I could fail at summer camp. I was a shy, curly haired, blue eyed girl with big dreams about summer camp. I had failed at several things before in my young life. For example, failing to jump rope, learning to play the piano, and baking my first pie all ended in failed attempts. However, I kept trying and eventually succeeded in each of them. Thomas Edison failed 1,000 times before he succeeded and invented the light bulb. J.K. Rowling was famously rejected by a mighty 12 publishers before Harry Potter and The Philosopher’s Stone was accepted. Dr. Seuss’s first book was rejected by 27 different publishers.

My second camp experience was a huge success! Camp allowed me to develop friendships, grow as a leader, and inspire other kids to excel. I turned my previous failure into a positive learning experience. Last year, I became a junior counselor. Becoming a junior counselor allowed me to further develop my leadership skills, encourage new campers, and organize activities. Counselor status allowed me to take my failure and teach young campers how to make their week a success. Because of my first failed camp experience, I easily related to the young, scared girls. Helping others overcome their fear of failing allowed me to gain strength in my ability to succeed. I took the misfortune of failing at camp and made it a positive learning
That exact statement makes me or any reader feel that failure doesn’t always have to be perceived to be negative. Failure can improve personal growth. We are always scared out the outcome failure will bring, but that is the silver lining for our personal growth. If we concentrate more on the effort we put into a certain task, we can grow by the steps we take along the way. Anyone can succeed, no matter their
And if it is true that the lessons we take from failure can be fundamental to later success then I am right. This is where my path to success really begins. It is never late to start again. Small things that aren’t so small can have a big repercussion in someone's life. We as human beings need to learn how to be more loving, respectful and compassionate. I am so proud to be who I am today because of this past experiences. I believe almost everybody has had a time in their lives in which they failed, nobody is perfect. Failure indeed can be fundamental to later success, but the expectations of success are not what people think, at least for me, but I certainly know I'm not
Failure can cause a torrent of mixed emotions and thoughts. One can begin to doubt their motives for even attempting to succeed at a certain task. Some people may choose to give up after failure, but there are a select few who rise up to the occasion and move forward to try and succeed no matter how many tries it takes. By overcoming those difficult moments in life, it gives a person a sense of accomplishment and pride and that alone is a beautiful thing.
Over the four years that I have spent at Good Counsel, I became part of many activities. Each helping me evolve as a person and become stronger yet. Simple lists could be made of every activity that I have ever been involved in but it could never express to a person what I have learned and how it helped me to grow. Every environmental club, science club, political science club, service work, and S.A.D.D. club I was part of had a very special message to deliver to me. Whether the message was one of responsibility, or a life lesson, I grew from it. The Political Science club opened me to many new experiences. It allowed me the chance to attend the Model U.N., where I was asked to address today's top world issues. This club was very beneficial to me because I was exposed to topics and ideas that I had not previously been able to discuss or learn about in a classroom situation. The science club allowed for me to experience extra educational situations as well. I took part in a hovercraft competition, which was very educational while also allowing me the chance to work with others for a common goal.
Failure is apart of life, it can make or break a person. When a person experiences a type of failure it is now up to them to see how they respond. They can choose the high road, and become a stronger person for it. Then they can choose the low road, the easy way out. The easy way out is never a good choice. It can lead only to destruction. The high road is the right choice to take when responding to failure. It will lead down a path of success. Jessica Lahey’s article, “When Success Leads to Failure” is an article that shows how kids are experiencing failure. Lahey says that, “these kids have a fear for failure, and that they have given up natural loves for learning. They are scared of not being successful”(Lahey). The truth is life is hard there will be failure. There is nothing in this world that comes easy to anyone.
The effects of failure can be devastating, but every one has to fail eventually, even people like J.K. rowling have had to start at rock bottom again they just need to push themselves in the right direction. In J.K Rowling's speech she stalks about her failures and how she came back from them to right a definingin books series. She claims “It is impossible to live without failing at something, unless you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all – in which case, you fail by default.”(Rowling,20). With this she says that failure is an important aspect of every ones life but then she says”Failure gave me an inner security that I had never attained by passing examinations. Failure taught me things about myself that I could have learned no other way.”(Rowling, 21). With this she talks about how important it was for her to fail to begin with, because it's important to fail in life just as long as you can get up and brush yourself off afterwards
Everyone in life experiences failure. It can affect people positively or negatively and that all depends on how they react to the experience. If one lets their failure overcome their dreams, it will lead them in the wrong path. But if one views their failures as a motive to succeed and grow, then they are on their way to becoming successful. For me, I let my failures in life help build onto my character and define the person I am today. My childhood injury is my example as I let this moment affect the outcome of my dreams I had then.
...hieving success. Success will be gained after many times of failures so long as we are willing to face and learning lesson from our failures. It is true that failure is an important factor toward success. The way to success is full of various difficulties and obstacles. History teaches me that many important inventions or discoveries is achieved after hundreds of failure. And no one would be always a failure. Storms always give way to the sun. Winter always thaws into springtime. So if our storm will pass, our winter will thaw. We will not far from success if we have faced a lot of failure.
When I ran to my father, wallowing in my failure, he explained that failure is a part of life and is something you build upon. Failure is not the end of the world; instead it is fuel for
Failures can be used as lessons so that the failure will not be repeated again. There could be long term failures that are crucial to life to remember and there could be short term failures that help a bit. One of my greatest failures in life that I've experienced and learned from would be from the time of my first grade year. I didn’t take school serious when I was in the first grade and made terrible grades. After this failure, it made change the outlook on school and I started trying. I learned that I need to take school serious or else I will do bad in school. This failure lead to success in school and it has changed the way I think of
He went home, locked himself in his room and cried. But now he owns six MBA champions, and 5 MBA MVPs; that moment of getting cut from his high school basketball team become nothing. Walt Disney was fired from his first job because people said he is lacked of imagination and had no original idea; this man is now the creator of the biggest company on producing cartoon and children entertainment, Disney. This man failed in business twice and was defeated in eight elections. With all of his effort and never giving up when things get hard he became the tenth president of the United States; this name named is Abraham Lincoln. Those people are examples of overcoming failure and become successful. They did not let the pain of failure stop them from being successful. They keep fighting and thrive for victory. Those are examples of failure is only help people to reach their goal sooner or later. What matter is how hard you try and how bad you want to be success.
Everyone experiences failure. Except for me; I was immune to failure. I was too smart and naturally talented. At least that is what I grew up to believe. From a young age I was put into the advanced programs in school with the purpose of reaching my full academic potential.
It doesn’t matter if they are failing or success, the only thing matter is how hard people are trying during the process. The value of success will worth and have respect after they walk through failure. It’s important on how people stand up after they failed, not how they failed, because everyone will fail at least one time on their life. A good example of people who fail but they stand up and learn from it is people who play sport. At first time of playing, no one will good at sport. Sometime they make a common mistake when they start play but if they learn from it, they won’t make that same mistake again during the game. To have that success they have to make mistake and fail during the practice so they can learn from it and practice to overcome their failure. But people who never fail when they play, they may make a common mistake on the
During my practicum there were many lessons learned that had help me build a stronger foundation as a future social worker. But the most significant has to be the summer camp, the camp lasted about five days. In the camp, I had the chance to interact with the children and understand more about their background. Seen how each member interacted with one another and understand that rather been just group of children in a camp they see themselves as a family with a real connection. It was also a time where my patience and dedication to the social work profession was challenge. After the camp my dedication to the program grew, I want to be part of it even after graduation.
