I am writing this proposal in regards to the opportunity grant that is being put forth to the community fellows. It’s to my understanding that these grants are put aside if in the event that the fellow comes to face a financial burden while at their placement. If provided that the grant will be lend towards replacing my current wardrobe which consists of clothing attire that is inappropriate for my workplace. The funds would be used for the purpose of purchasing new dress shoes, sneakers, polo shirts, dress shirts, dress pants (including khaki pants), black socks, and shoe polisher. Having the ability to purchase a whole new wardrobe will benefit me in a significant way. First, it will allow me to take my mind off having to replace my current attire and trying to figure out how much money I need to put aside each paycheck. Second, it would allow me to be a little more flexible when it comes to saving or to allocate extra …show more content…
For example, buying groceries, doing laundry, purchasing toiletries, and household cleaning supplies. Having not to worry about using the money I earn during this fellowship and/or at my primary job, will allow me to use my source of income for paying my bills. The opportunity grant will enhance my development in a way that I would have never imagined if it did not exist. As previously stated, it will allow me to manage my money in the most effective way thus enabling me to create a budget, in which I can use to prevent me from overspending. Admittedly, I have attempted many times to manage my money, but every time I always have to take money from somewhere else an order to buy what I need. The opportunity grant will be beneficial at my workplace and at the Pinkerton Fellowship Initiative. I work alongside staff attorneys at the Advocates for Children, and the dress attire varies from day to
In one particular article, the main character has $150,000 that she wanted to give as a scholarship to someone who was in need. Although she grew up poor as was not able to go to college, she wanted to make sure that someone who was like her when she was younger had the chance to get an education. All that she had besides the money she was gonna use for the scholarship was just enough to get
I would like to participate in the SEAP program because I am passionate about engineering. I am completely absorbed with learning everything and anything related to STEM studies. My love of engineering and science intensified during my high school years due to my favorite classes like AP Chemistry and Principles of Engineering. Chemistry is undoubtedly the most challenging class my school has to offer. Nevertheless, every topic peaks my interest.
If I can turn back in time, I would advise my young self to join the Kaiser Permanente volunteering program sooner and to skip the small conversations in meetings. Those talks may seem necessary for the first few times, but this communication method can become meaningless since people do not interact on a personal level. Joining the program had supported me by allowing me to associate with various friends through teamwork and encouraged me to thrive beyond my comfort zone.
Admittance into the University of Georgia’s Honors Program would push me to continually test my potential in the pursuit of my Pre-Medical studies. I take pride in challenging myself to completely master a field of study that enhance my capabilities, and therefore, prepare myself to strive for my next goal in life. In order to grow into a better and improved self, one would need to test unfamiliar waters and reach new heights. The Honors Program ensures this growth by bringing in unaccustomed, rigorous, and beneficial material one cannot simply find in a traditional setting with their head in a textbook. Students are more able to grasp information through exploration and peer discussion which the Honors Program would provide. I believe that
As a student that is currently seeking a career in the medical professions, I have had to routinely contemplate my reasons for pursuing such an extensive education program in a field that is constantly demanding excessive time and effort. I know of students—many friends and acquaintances of mine included—that have the most sure-fire, inspirational stories that align with their desire to become doctors, surgeons, physician assistants, etc. They always seemed to have a story that emphasized their desire to “give back” what they have received from the medical community. Because of that, ever since the beginning of high school, I have been trying to find an extraordinary reason, a purpose for my medical pursuits. Perhaps I could justify my passion for
I would like to thank Salish Kootenai College for giving me the wonderful opportunity of applying for STEM academy. If somebody had told me that I would be applying for college classes as a sophomore, I would not have believed them. My parents have always told me that when an opportunity comes, you should take it, and I do not plan on letting this experience go to waste. Education has been a big part of my life, and this academy can only help me move forward. That being said, here are a few reasons why I should be considered a candidate for the STEM academy. Joining the STEM academy will allow me to further my knowledge and help me to get closer to my goals, my academic career would flourish, and I would be closer to my ambition for my future. I am determined to become the best and most educated version of myself that I can possibly be.
I am grateful for the opportunity to be considered for the Intermountain Administrative Fellowship. I’ve had the great privilege of working at Intermountain for nearly five years, and I have enjoyed the culture and people I have been able to work with. I would like to identify three career goals related to population health, and two related to the development of Intermountain Healthcare.
Dear Financial aid Committee. I am writing to appeal for reinstatement of my financial aid which was revoked due to my poor grades during fall 2012. Although this is my second appeal, I take full responsibility for the drastic decline in my level of academic performance the past semester. I have a plan to get back on track.
I am qualified to be accepted into the National Honor Society based on scholarship. Scholarship is defined as academic study or achievement; learning at a high level. I have maintained at least a 96 unweighted overall average throughout my years in Trinity as well as in middle school. I have tried to take rigorous courses as well as many to help me get into a better school for my major in science. I take Honors courses along with an AP course and manage to be consistent in my school work while having practice for sports after school every day and twice a week for outside of school sports. I have been nominated for the Science Honor Society for excelling in my Biology, Chemistry, and Physics classes. I have been on Principal’s List Freshman year when I was ranked 30 in the class and Sophomore year when I ranked 20 in the class, so I believe my continued growth as the curriculum gets harder qualifies me for the National Honor Society under scholarship.
I am a cocoon still on the verge of transformation. In order for me to grow as a person, there are many procedures that are crucial. NJ LEEP’s College Bound Program is specifically one of the essential steps. This program will allow me to improve myself. It can enhance my time management and allow me to ponder in a distinctive way, too. In addition, I can obtain a higher amount of knowledge through the program’s rigorous courses. I realized through my five years in Harrison, I was not exposed to how life really works. Therefore, my opportunities to experience the real world and meeting new people were minimal. Harrison restricts my life experiences. However, NJ LEEP provides opportunities that will benefit me. Overcoming fears might be difficult, such as public speaking. However, I am willing to take the chance to overcome these obstacles. Even though I do not want to enter into
During tough times one looks for the light at the end of the tunnel to get through their difficulties. The Make-A-Wish Foundation doesn’t just provide a light, but a full gap, in that tunnel. Make-A-Wish uses donated funds to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses in order to give that child an escape in the tough time they’re going through. Critics of this foundation say that the funds should be going to finding a cure for their illnesses, especially cancer research, instead of for frivolous wishes. Although funding cancer research is indispensable for the future, funding for the Make-A-Wish Foundation is more important for the present because it provides irreplaceable experiences for children who may not live long enough to see a cure.
