American Beauty/American Psycho was an album that was sung by the band Fall Out Boy in 2015. Fall Out Boy is an alternative/indie rock band with a little hint of pop in some of their songs. This album, which is the band’s most recent album, is full of a lot of good songs and songs that maybe some people wouldn’t like. Fall Out Boy is a face-paced band, which means their songs are faced-paced. A lot of their songs could be a little hard to understand for people who don’t listen to this kind of music. The album does not have many of these types of songs, which is why it is a favorite among Fall Out Boy fans.
Although fame and being in the spotlight may seem like it’s all fun and games, when a celebrity starts doing bad things, those things spread like wild fire. The tabloids create an extended truth about the stories that actually take place. Everything that a star does is captured in either a video or a picture. All the privacy that you once had is now gone. You represent that nation to other countries and how we as Americans are suppose to be acting. All the bad things that our celebrities do, other countries see and base our nation upon. The actions, good or bad, are looked at as if we all do them. The Rolling Stones and Justin Bieber represent different time periods and how society has changed within the last few decades, but some of the actions stayed the same. There are drug scandals, ruined relationships, and a musical difference that is undeniable. The years have gone on and the actions had gotten worse. The Stones as well as Beiber have both had a massive impact on the world and the people that live in it.
Love & Hip Hop is an American Reality Show series on VH1. The series debuted on March 14, 2011. Mona Scott-Young is the CEO of multi-media entertainment company Monami Entertainment which is home of the popular show. In addition to “Love & Hop Hop,” the film and television division of Monami Entertainment has produced the spin-off “Chrissy & Mr. Jones” and “The Gossip Game,” both on VH1. All of these shows have a common theme. They are all drama filled reality shows based on the chronicles of several men and women with unpredictable love lives, who are involved in Hip Hop. Though found entertaining by many, these shows are all geared to target the young urban demographic and has stirred up controversy for several reasons when viewed by the wrong audience. The main female characters of the show this previous season are Yandy Smith, Erica Mena, Tara and Tahiry. All four of these women lead separate story lines that revolve around the four leading men; Mendecese, Rich Dollas, Peter Gunz, and Joe Budden.
“If you want change, you have to make it. If we want progress we have to drive It.” - Susan Rice. The author of this quotation had it right because the only way that anything in life becomes better or worthwhile is through change. When we talk about change in reference to music, Michael Jackson definitely comes to mind. Michael Jackson changed a lot of things starting with the change of pop music and how it was presented and gave it a “new sound”. The same holds true for the music industry. ” For starters, the record industry as a whole was in a bad slump, with shipments industry-wide down by 50 million units between 1980 and 1982. CBS Records' own profits were down 50% and sales were down over 15% for the year. As a result, major company-wide layoffs occurred in mid-August, on a day the company would remember as "Black Friday." CBS desperately needed Jackson's album to be a hit, but market conditions appeared daunting.” - Steve Greenberg. Michael Jackson brought the youth back in to buying albums and started to get the youth back into listening to good music instead spending all of their money on video games and going to arcades, which in fact was the thing for the youth to do around the 1980’s.
Imagine working your whole life and being so dirt poor you struggle to live in a cruddy apartment. Depending on how rich you started out being, and how popular you became, that’s how it was in the sixties and still is today (although it’s a little better) in the music industry. Iggy Pop is a musician and song writer from the sixties. He was the lead vocalist in The Stooges band and has done solo work recently, as well as been a radio jockey for the past few years, having his own air time with the Iggy Confidential. He is from Michigan, but he works in London now. Jim Osterberg, more commonly known as Iggy Pop, was asked to do a speech at the John Peel Lecture in 2014; in his speech there, he used flashbacks and allusions to get his message across: Capitalist societies, like here in the USA, hurt and continue to hurt the musicians and song writers in the music industry.
The limitless access to music makes it easy to forget that people's careers rely on the profit behind every song. A profit that is continually shrinking, something that is forcing companies to re-think the way they get music to us, the fans. This will affect everyone who has the slightest interest in music. Some for the worse, but many for the better.
The assignment will attempt to explore the commercialised fabrication that is X-Factor, on the music industry. In particular, what does the reality show X-factor pose for production of artists, and the effects this has on the industry? The prestige for production that X-Factor had to offer for the music industry, simultaneously to now it may no longer desire through realisation of just regurgitated material? A matter of opinions and factual literature will be explored to elude the commodification this commercialised machine offers to the music industry. Firstly, what are commodities and the relation commodification holds within the music industry? Commodities are an existence of a good that are produced for means to a profit (Marx, 1968). Well established commodities are those with large markets, accustomed by large derivative markets trade and speculate profit, if the asset or produce interchanges in the way they are expected (Hesmondhalgh, 2007). Therefore, would it suggest culture commodification districts genuine value and asserts more focus on profit motives, subsequently, weakening creativity and originality that are imposed within the media industry? The relationship between commodification and the X Factor is a direct marketing tool for the commodification of music, which takes particular advantage of the much sought-after Christmas Number One spot every year (King, 2010).
It all started in Columbus Ohio. A young boy found his love for singing with his two friends and together they started Twenty One Pilots. Tyler Joseph is now the only original band member left and with Josh Dun their band is becoming increasingly popular. When the movie Suicide Squad came out in the summer of 2016 so did Twenty One Pilots song “Heathens.” “Heathens” is now being played all over the radio and becoming more and more popular.
“So the British invasion was more important as an event, as a mood: than as music” (Bangs, 171). This was the British invasion. I wasn’t just about the music, it was more then that; this is what makes it so unique. It didn’t just happen to effect America by chance, it lifted the spirits and moods of its youth. It isn’t just coincidence that Kennedy was assassinated right before the Beatles famous Ed Sullivan Show performance. The whole country was in a deep depressive doldrum after the assassination, and for good reason. The British invasion was needed by Americans to snap out of this funk, and this was just the thing to do it. (One thing that Americans used to avoid the depressing times was to use illegal drugs, but that will be elaborated on later.) This is what it was all about; sure it was about the music, but it brought more, it brought a way of life across the ocean.

In Tory Lanez song “Say it” explains a situation where he is trying to impress a female by lying about not only his lifestyle but also about the amount of money he possess. Not only is he being deceptive of these things the young lady whom he is trying to make an impression on only shows interest in him because he has “money”. Tory is suspicious that this female is more interested in the car and false fame than him. She’s laying on the flirty behavior to get to what she truly wants which is not Tory at all. He wants more than nice words “more than just say it”(A-Z Lyrics) and flirting “less when you do it”(A-Z Lyrics). Tory is hoping that she will prove herself to be more than just a gold-digger. In this essay, I argue that having money will change someone’s perception of you and it will also lead you to being attracted to someone for the wrong reasons.
