People who are singers can technically perform just anywhere they want. But professional singers, on the other hand, are usually a little more particular about where they perform. Individuals who are just starting their singing careers will often perform nearly anywhere there is an audience to listen. As they

Live singers usually get paid per show, for instance, and depending on their popularity, the number of shows that different singers perform in will vary greatly. Recording artists also usually receive a certain amount of money for every album that consumers purchase. If a singer is greatly successful in selling several albums, she can make a great deal of money. On the other hand, if she sells very few albums, she obviously won’t make as much money. The Bureau of Labor statistics, however, has recorded the salary data of many different singers and

There are a lot of groups and people out there who have greatly influenced pop culture. They range from the Beatles to Miley Cyrus. Coming from all parts of the world too. From England to the American South. Out of these groups comes one almost everybody has heard of, Lynyrd Skynyrd. Lynyrd Skynyrd is a great contributing factor in modern day pop culture because they showed the new era of the South but also that they would not stray away from the “Old South” heritage.
Paul Simon single-handedly changed the world of song writing. His songwriting is among the best, if not the best, of all time. It changed the life of millions of young teenagers who felt more connected with Simon's introverted style of music rather than with Bob Dylan's protest music. Simon was the first to use poetry as a style of songwriting, which has been a prominent feature of current songwriters.

Throughout our history, music has constantly been influenced by trends of its time, reflecting social, economic and political changes. On the other hand, music has defined the culture and social events or leading them to social revolution. For instance, guys like Bob Dylan and Stevie Wonder greatly contributed to social events. Such leaders and musical revolutionaries have existed throughout history.
Soul had a great cultural impact on the music industry during the 1960's, especially considering that record labels such as Motown, Stax, and Fame had several important soul artists under contract. While Motown was considered by some to be a more restrained (pop) type of soul, musicians such as Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder and groups such as the Supremes and the Temptations released many successful records in combination. Both Stax and Fame Records decided to take a different approach, and many of the tracks issued out of their respective studios were of a grittier, southern soul style, which some consider to be more true to the roots of African American culture. Some southern soul musicians include Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett, and Aretha Franklin. During the civil rights movement and more so after Martin Luther King was assassinated, some soul artists began incorporating a "black power" element within their music. For example, take James Brown's single "Say It Loud, I'm Black and Proud".
It has allowed us to go to another place, expressing the emotion and social issues of a particular decade. As our societies morals and beliefs change, music will continue to change with it. With the help of new advancements, music will always be a way for us to speak the language of generations to come and bring a variety of new music, messages, styles, and social expectations.
The limitless access to music makes it easy to forget that people's careers rely on the profit behind every song. A profit that is continually shrinking, something that is forcing companies to re-think the way they get music to us, the fans. This will affect everyone who has the slightest interest in music. Some for the worse, but many for the better.
Music has continued to change throughout each decade, but the 1960s was the most influential decade in the history of music. Starting in the early 1950s, rock music was first introduced. Major record labels were releasing new “cover songs” which were originally made by black artist, but now by white artist (Rock and Roll). These cover songs changed a few lyrics from the original songs to avoid copyright issues and to also make the song more appropriate for the white listeners. The biggest star of the 1950s was Elvis Presley, who was known as the “King of rock n’ roll”.
Whether it is through music or written literature, such as a novel, characters convey emotion and thought. The audience understands through the characters present. Just as we find characters we love we also find characters we despise. Setting is much the same. Whether the setting is explicitly given or simply implied, the audience has a picture in mind. Sometimes it is a place of great beauty and sometimes it is a place we would rather disregard. It is my observations however that character and setting are to some extent present in every song I listen to. Character and setting are not only additions to music and songs, but seem to be what makes the songs.
How does music reflect society? The baroque period was a time of radical change that brought about some of the greatest composers and artists we know of today. However when one looks at art, they might think about how the people were back then, and if looking/listening to the art of that time that one might be able to picture everything. How does music reflect society?

Throughout my life, music has always been a major influence. It has the power to change my mood when I'm feeling down, but the thing I find most intriguing about music is that it doesn't always end up improving your mood: like all forms of art, it imitates life, which is not always portrayed in a positive light. The musicians that I admire most have the versatility to induce several different emotional responses in the same piece. This quality is present in most of the wide variety of music I listen to, from Russian composer Dmiti Shostakovich, to Chicago jazz band Tortoise, to California pop/rock sextet Mr. Bungle.
Prince wrote popular songs for other well-known artists (Jarnow,2018). His music has also been changed by other singers. Prince not only set a good example, he also influenced other singers to pursue their dreams (Jarnow,2018). Although Prince’s other talents made him popular his name also contributed.
I would have to be able to stand for long periods of time, speak clearly so listeners can understand, understand the speech of another person, focus on one source of sound and ignore others, hear sounds and recognize the difference between them. Plus, singers also have to be personable, or else people do not have interest in them. No postsecondary education is necessary, but study in music theory, dance, and acting could be helpful to proceed in this career. Most singers have professional voice training when they are younger.
