Since Obama came into office in 2010 the people of the United States have dealt with an awful system of “health care.” I believe that eliminating Obamacare completely will cause the biggest change in our country. Obamacare was a federal law that was put in place to supposedly create easy access to health insurance for U.S. citizens of all race, sex, age, and economic status. The Affordable Care Act, as it is otherwise known as, had many flaws though. Our country needs help and one of the most effective ways to achieve this is by repealing Obamacare and ridding ourselves of the individual mandate, because no one should be required to pay for insurance if they do not want to or do have the funds for it, but would rather be buying food for their children. Under Obamacare, all states were supposed to rack up the number of individuals who qualified for Medicaid, which was for the poor. In return, the states would “get more support” but, no state could choose to opt out of this arrangement. Because of this, the poor families who did …show more content…

Our country is struggling the way we are and Obamacare has helped a few but mainly done more harm than help. Many countries just make it mandatory and provide healthcare for all, without an extra cost. Our country is a money-based system, but as leaders they must realise our health is not the way to make money, even though everyone today believes it is. It has been said that they will follow free market ideas and create new public policies to widen health care access to make it affordable around the country. Obamacare was supposed to help many people, it was supposed to help those without. My family tried to get on this system two years ago, but since I, an 18 year old student, make enough money, just enough to put myself through college, my family did not qualify for this program. That is not how a government funded health insurance should
