Recommended: Flashcard on foreshadowing
This past year a lot of eye catching movies made it to the big screen, one that particularly stood out to me was the heist film, Now You See Me. The movie stars a few well-known people such as Morgan Freeman, Mark Ruffalo, Isla Fisher, Woody Harrelson, and Dave Franco. The movie in a nutshell is very well explained by the synopsis provided by IMDB “An FBI agent and an Interpol detective track a team of illusionists who pull off bank heists during their performances and reward their audiences with the money.” There are many magic tricks that take place besides just the bank robbery, however, that trick is the main focus point throughout the whole movie. In the film, “Now You See Me” there is a lot of interesting features such as; the characters and their roles, the high and weak points of the overall plot, the foreshadowing displayed in the film, the conflicts presented in this film, as well as a few good life lesson to learn.
In this particular movie, there are a lot of significant characters. The magicians, known as the Four Horsemen, are our big tricksters in this situation. The first is Daniel Atlas; he is a world renowned magician, who has few nervous qualities about him. He tends to be very similar to our antagonist according to Stephanie Merry who stated “They’re fun to watch with their sweet delivery of witticisms, but they’re also dismissive and self-righteous.” The next person in the Four Horseman is Merritt McKinney, the Mentalist. We are introduced to him through a scene where is conning a couple for money. There is another con artist in the Four Horseman known as Jack Wilder. He is the youngest of the group, and he is considered childish until the end of the movie. He is also a con-artist and looks up to big name magi...

...vie doesn’t. I love the foreshadowing in this film! It’s great once you figure it out because you can watch the film again and it gets even better. The conflict is truly amazing; it’s great that there is both internal and external conflict. Also, it’s not just a film with no message, there is actually meaning behind everything that happens which I enjoy as I’m sure other people do as well. The film “Now You See Me” has a lot of ideas and qualities about it once you take a closer look at it, and evaluate it. In the end, it is a great film and is one that I would recommend.

Tim’s father was being threatened by a man on the patriots side that wanted all of the Torie’s weapons. Sam had the weapon, but those men did not believe that, so the man slapped the flat side of his sword across fathers face. Tim went out and ran to the place where Sam’s sword would have been and got it. Sam was asleep when this happened and eventually tracked him down and took it back while his father was fine and they left him. (p.49-60) Tim was brave and smart, he showed both of these when he tricked men into thinking that they would be caught. The cattle thieves were tricked into thinking that an escort was coming soon because Tim made it sound like he thought that they were the escort.(p.123-126)
Along the river, Jim and Huck run across two scam artists who claim to be a runaway King and Duke. Their raft is overtaken by these two men who force Huck and Jim into their dangerous, yet comical scams. Their last scam proves t be too much of Huck. The King and Duke claim to be the brothers of a quite wealth, but conveniently deceased man. Because of their acclamation, the two men are guaranteed a large inheritance. However, when Huck falls for the beautiful heart and kindness of one of the dead man's nieces he can't imagine stealing the money form her. Huck tells the niece the whole story, and admits who the "brothers" really are. The King and Duke are eventually discovered by the town to be impersonators, and are tarred and feathered.
The entire movie is bursting with counter narratives, when the audience believes they hold an accurate grasp on what is truly happening, there is a misguiding event, as the storyline is continually challenged. The viewer’s beginning formations about what is going on are learned to be always questionable because what is repeatedly steered to trust and is revealed not be the truth in the conclusion of the film. This neo-noir film had multiple scenarios that make the previous actions untrustworthy to the actual message. This proves that all the observations and thoughts the viewer possesses are only relevant to what they are exposed to and shown and not to what is, in fact, happening.
person affecting another, but also how the actions of one person trying to deceive many people
Even though there is a great amount of audience participation, one really has to turn your attention to the actors in the movie. It takes a special kind of person to really understand the movie they are in.
The people used to get mad but they never could catch him.” (62) Coon Taylor is a trickster because he is a petty thief but one who can not get caught. Other Tricksters in the novel are Sweet Back and Jelly from Story in Harlem Slang. While they are not thieves like Coon Taylor they are still Tricksters because they are liars, only lying to one up and impress the other person. “Put your money where your mouth is”, he challenged, as he mock-struggled to haul out a huge roll.” (129) “Jelly slammed his hand in his bosom as if to draw a gun. Sweet Back did the same.” (131) When these characters are arguing they begin trying to be better than the other person as shown in these quotes.
John Lee Hancock’s film, The Blind Side, is an absolutely must see. The Blind Side, is a semi biographical movie that is based on the life of a football player named Michael Oher. The film was produced in 2009 by the Warner Bros. Production Company. The movie exemplifies the works of talented actors and actresses, some of whom are familiar and others that are new to the acting world. The names of the Main characters are as follows: Sandra Bullock, who plays the role of Mrs.Tuohy, Tim McGraw, who portrays Mr.Tuohy, and new comer Quinton Aaron, who plays the lead as Michael Oher. Even though, the film seems to be over exaggerated cliché, it excels tremendously in acting, setting, and encouraging and inspirational relationships. For these reasons, I personally think that the movie is worth watching due to the fact that it teaches individuals not to judge people by their race but by their character and actions.
All in all, after watching the movie, I know how to be thankful, the point of persistence and the precious friendship, I have learnt some important things that I didn’t know before. And the best thing is I'm still young enough, I also can fix my behavior and gain experiences.
Even thought there is not a commonly agreed single definition for a trickster, Hydes and Hynes find common ground in saying that a trickster is someone who deceits, tricks , takes advantage of situations and certainly-among other things, disobeys normal rules. A trickster breaks the rules more often maliciously, as Loki for example; however, at the end usually the tricks end up having positive effects. Hynes mentions six characteristics most often found in the trickster. Even though not all of them are always present, in the film “Identity Thief” (2013) Diana (Melissa McCarthy) shows a few of these traits explained by Hynes.
This movie portrays so many of the social-psychological principles. One that is really noticeable is the person perception principle. In the scene
First of all, I was touched by the following statement “ You can be mad as a mad dog at the way things went. You can swear, curse the fates, regret everything you ever did but when it comes to the end. You have to let it go”. Actually, I was in a gloomy mood before I watched this film, something really grieved happened and I was lost and confused. I cursed the fate and blame everyone and everything include myself. Nevertheless, the word “let it go” helped me lay my burdens down and I understood that something I had to accept truth which had happened and let it
...s you to get lost in a completely different world; it takes you to the future, a place where things are supposed to be better and brighter but instead it is darker and gloomier than ever before. It opens your eyes to something so much bigger and you don’t even realise until you have left the cinema.
I’ve seen a lot of films, and with a lot of different genres. But I don’t think that romantic films are pretty good. They are too boring. The good films are action or comedy films, but the best films are action and com-edy films mixed together. That’s why I’ve chosen the film Taxi 2. It’s a French produced film, with a lot of action and comedy. It’s a pretty new film, and I saw it in the cinema last month. I’ve looked very much forward to see that film, because Taxi was very good too. It took only 5 weeks to get 10 mil-lion Frenchmen into the cinema. Just for watching Taxi 2.
