Nikola Tesla

Nikola Tesla was born July 10 1856 in Smiljan Lika, somewhere in the Hungarian empire. During

this time it was either joining the army or becoming an orthodox priest. Also his father was

pushing Nikola to become an orthodox priest. But Nikola had different plans he decided to go

to college and study mathematics and physics but then he really wanted to study electricity

then later became a electrical engineer for a telephone company in Budapest. When all of the

sudden a idea came to him of a spinning magnate so he drew it on the ground for his friend

that was with him. Later on he joined Edison’s continental company in Paris. He made a

prototype of his machine and it ran successful but he could not get any ones attention in

Europe. Edison had him come to America and it was his dream to harness the power of the

Niagara Falls. Charles Batchelor gave Tesla a note to show to Edison when he got to the United

States of America the note said “I know two great men one is you and the other is this young

As the seventh and last child in his family, Edison was his mother’s favorite to which she was instantly convinced his abnormally big head was a sign of intelligence. Edison’s father was also very encouraging to which he would reward Edison ten cents for every great classic he completed.
