The movie The Nightmare Before Christmas by Tim Burton examens many different types of qualities from sociology. The movie is based on Jack Skellington “the pumpkin king” of Halloweentown. Jack finds himself stuck and alone in his home surrounded by people who support and admire him. He struggles with not feeling complete and wanting more than what he has. With Jack feeling this way, he seeks out different things to make him feel complete. When he finds himself in the forest surrounded by different doors for different holidays he happens to stumble into Christmas Town. This eventually leads to him wanting to change Halloween Town into something it’s not. Halloween Towns Material Culture is the town is dark. The buildings are old and creepy. The roads are dark and look old. The atmosphere is cold and dark. The Symbolic Culture is being terrifying every day. They prepare for Halloween all year round and try to make each new thing scarier than the last. Halloween Town has only done their spooky traditions. Everyone who lives in halloween town knows that things are a certain way and rely on keeping their spooky traditions because that’s the only thing they know how to do. Jack realizes that Christmas Town is full of light and happiness. He notices that there is a different vibe of the town. There are people building toys, playing with snowballs and most importantly..
