Newspaper Report on a Town
I am going to write a newspaper article about my town, it is called
Luton. It is thirty miles north of London. And has a population of
around 187000 people. Its main features are the airport, which is
currently being extended and the Vauxhall factory.
The area, which I live in, is called Wigmore. It is on the very edge
of the town and backs onto the countryside. There are a number of
small villages beyond Wigmore, Tea Green, which has a small golf
course, and Cockernhoe, which has a small junior school. They both
have very few houses, as well as a church and of course a pub.
All of the houses down my road are either four or three bed-roomed
houses. They all have front and back gardens as well as a park. This
is a good feature as it allows children to play in the comfort of
their own road; this is very reassuring for parents.
If you go out of my road there is a main road, which if you follow
will either take you to Wigmore Valley Park, which is an enormous
playing field that sits directly next to the airport. It is used
mainly in the summer where you would have families with picnics, fun
and games and people walking their dogs. If you go the other way you
will be taken to the local supermarket, ASDA. Which is the second
busiest attraction in my area, next to the airport. The supermarket
consists of everything you could think of from designer clothes, ready
cooked food as well as your every day shopping. It also has a music
and video store which has a number of top of the chart products as
well as a large archive of old music and videos. And all of this at
exceptionally low prices.
If you go slightly further than ASDA then you will reach Ashcroft
area, this is where my School is. My school is an I.T communications
college which means that its main interest is I.
Dawlish warren is a major sand spit at the mouth of the River Exe, and
the Lake District. It is 0.5 km wide and 1km from the front to back.
In today’s society, American citizens tend to believe that America has been, “American” since the day that Christopher Columbus set foot in the Bahamas. This is a myth that has been in our society for a multitude of years now. In A New England Town by Kenneth A. Lockridge, he proves that America was not always democratic. Additionally, he proves that America has not always been “American”, by presenting the town of Dedham in 1635. Lockridge presents this town through the course of over one hundred years, in that time many changes happened as it made its way to a type of democracy.
We all have some experience telling something that is untruthful or just an outright lie. You go looking for a way out of a tense situation when you need it most? Are you afraid of what happens when you are under stress, do you tend to be "creative" with the truth? In the story “The Secret Society of Starving” by author Mim Udovitch, girls that are suffering from eating disorders talk about the secret world of the online pro-anorexia (“pro-ana”) community. It is only there that they can truly express themselves and even motivate other anorexic people. Similarly, in the essay “Can You Tell the Truth in a Small Town?”, Individuals struggle to put their true words down on paper, knowing that if they do the secrets they share could result in them being ostracized from the only community they know, . In both “The Secret Society of Starving” and “Can You Tell the Truth in a Small Town?” The writers explore the different lifestyles of two communities and how they both seem to encourage individuals to hide the truth from the rest of the world, their lies compounding and culminating in their further removal from the community and their loved ones
The Village of Skokie v. National Socialist Party of America The National Socialist Party, a Nazi group lead by Frank Collin, proposed a march, in full uniform, to be held on May 1, 1977 through the Village of Skokie near Chicago, Illinois. Skokie was the home of thousands of Jewish Holocaust survivors. Shocked by the announcement, the survivors rose in protest against the march (Downs book cover flap). The controversial march that was planned to take place right in the middle of town would clearly have caused problems. If trouble was pretty much guaranteed in Skokie on the day of the march, then should the US Supreme Court have let the Nazis keep their plan to march through Skokie?
Today, it's believed the first coins used and were bronze in West Valley City, around 20017. Coins were employed by Lydia in Asia Minor. The coins of the Lydian were termed "starters" that was a unit of weight. Entrepreneurs were placed having a lion's mind impression and made out of silver and gold metal. Nowadays, as you may think, the coins which can be still outstanding are very useful.

A common perception about a cheerleader is that their sole role in sports is to chant and encourage teams that are playing on the field from the sidelines or stands of a game. However, towards the end of the 20th century, cheerleaders have taken on more of an active role. Cheerleaders take part in competitions against other schools based on the skills they acquire throughout the season. States like Virginia, Michigan, and Georgia have officially recognized cheerleading as a sport and have included the activity as a part of each state’s respective league. However, there are many more states that have not yet considered cheerleading a sport. Cheerleading has two facets, competition and sideline. While competitive cheer may require more athleticism and skill than sideline cheer, one should consider cheerleading as a sport due to its need of athleticism and training, its role in stabilizing and promoting social norms, and the competitive nature between teams for the goal of winning.
and join the snake of cars heading home. The white line becomes my guide as darkness slips down behind me. I’m on the road again, Willie. Drivin’ my life away, Eddie.
way? I cannot tell. But this I know, a set of bones is travelling upon this road.
In Robert Frost’s “The Road Not Taken”, Frost shows the everyday human struggle to make a choice that could change the course of one’s life. In his poem, a person has the choice to take one road or the other. One road is worn out from many people taking it, and the other is barely touched, for fewer have taken that road. Throughout the poem, the speaker learns that just because so many other people have done one thing, or walked one way, does not mean everyone has to. Sometimes you just have to go your own way.
In his celebrated poem "The Road Not Taken," Robert Frost describes the decision one makes when reaching a fork in the road. Some interpret Frost as suggesting regret on the part of the traveler as to not choosing the path he forgoes, for in doing so he has lost something significant. Others believe he is grateful for the selection, as it has made him the man he is. The diverging roads are symbolic of the choices society is faced with every day of life. Choosing one course will lead the traveler in one direction, while the other will likely move away, toward a completely different journey. How does one know which is the right path; is there a right path? The answer lies within each individual upon reflection of personal choices during the course of life's unfolding, as well as the attitude in which one looks to the future.
After dissecting the one road, the speaker takes the other path without putting as much time investigating it. He makes so...
I’ve finally made it. When you first land here the immediate difference is all around you whizzing around you creating a sense of life. It 's a sense that you rarely have in a small town it 's bigger I can’t quite obtain a hold of it. It moves fast all through the night and during the day.
