In the romantic comedy Why Him, John Hamburg brilliantly shows that we all have more in common than we think. Why him follows the Flemings, a family from Michigan whose daughter Stephanie, played by Zoey Deutch, attends Stanford. Her father, Ned Fleming, the CEO of a failing printing company has been struggling to keep the business afloat, but is too prideful to tell his family. Coincidently, Stephanie has been keeping her multimillion-dollar boyfriend Laird, played by James Franco, a secret. Throughout Why Him, Ned’s traditional views cause him to clash with Laird, a man who acts off impulse and has no filter for lack of better words. The movie starts with tear drawing comedy. Stephanie is face timing her father Ned, at his birthday party.
The movie begins with self-centered, materialistic Charlie Babbitt (Tom Cruise), learning the death of his father. To settle his dad’s estate, he and his business partner/girlfriend, Susanna (Valeria Golino) travel to his home town Cincinnati. While he was hoping to inherit all of his dad’s estate, all he got was a car and a collection of rosebushes that he simply has no use for. The remaining $3 million fortune was put into a trust for an unnamed beneficiary. Charlie demands to know the identity of the beneficiary and finds out that it is a mental hospital where his long-lost autistic brother, Raymond (Dustin Hoffman) resides with a caretaker, Dr. Bruner (Gerald R. Molen).
The plot of the movie was that a man’s sister had died and he believed she had been murdered. The viewer later learns that the girl is alive and had an affair with her husband’s doctor. The man never finds out his sister was still alive because she gets
The first scene we are going to look at is the party at the beginning
In the script everything will take place in Jacks country house and we will be introduced to Cecily and she will meet “Ernest” aka algy who she falls in love with. Meanwhile in the movie they actually took scenes like meeting Cecily and her teacher miss prism and put them early in the movie. They kept Cecily meeting algy in the same place but added scenes of her crazy fantasies to give let you know what she has been dreaming about. Moving meeting Cecily earlier into the movie helps you understand who Cecily is because they do hint a lot about who she is. I love how they added little snip it of what cecily is day dreaming about because they make her seem like a hopeless romantic and it give a little bit of comedy. The script makes you wait to meet her and I mean you can’t automatically add her to a random scene in a play but I would rather it be all in order and not be placed earlier as they did in the
Maxine finds out that she is not invited to a meeting that the president is having and she gets upset because she should be at that meeting. When she gets to the meeting people are shocked to see her there because they know that the President did not invite her. When the President sees her he is shocked too and then Maxine starts to talk about the problems there are in the country at the time. At the meeting they start talking about the riots that are going on and how it is the Justice Departments fault for not controlling the cops and their violent
I feel like admitting this, the starting scenes in the film confused me. I had to double-check the release date of the film! The starting credits appear in 1930s animation with 1930’s jazz background score, something like the way Popeye began! The starting performance by the Belleville Sisters and the bizarre theatrics that follow pretty much set the tone for the rest of the film. This film is more of detail and quirks than a complex storyline. In fact, to sum it all up, it is just a really determined grandmother’s quest to r...
Brian (Anthony Michael Hall) is an unhappy honors student who wishes he could be accepted as a person and not valued just as a brain. Upset over a poor grade in shop, Brian has contemplated suicide rather than live with the ire of his disappointed parents.

The film starts off with the main character Marion not starting off on the right foot. Marion slipped into the dark side of being a human, which sometimes
It starts out with the main character Tina coming back to Crystal Lake which is the place of her father’s demise. Her psychic powers had been the reason for his death and she blamed herself for it as an adult. But later on her powers release Jason Voorhees from his watery grave. The reason this movie got rank number 3 on this list is due to the fact that they actually had a character that had a chance against Jason. As well as the scene where Kane Hodder (Jason) was set on fire for 45 seconds which made this film that used an uncontrolled fire for its

After their heart to heart in the park, Tom had managed to avoid Booker for the rest of the day. He likened his behavior to that of a refractory child, his decision to distance himself from the man who had turned his world upside down an immature attempt at self-preservation. But buried beneath the protective shield of denial lurked an insatiable curiosity. As far as he knew, none of his friends, family or coworkers were bisexual, which somehow added to Booker's mystique. While he had always known about Dennis’ sexual proclivities, he had never given much thought to it before. But all that had changed the moment he found him in his bed, and now he had a mountain of questions. Had the officer felt an attraction to both boys and girls from a young age or was there an epiphany at puberty? If so, why had it taken him until the age of twenty-four to have the same impulses? It was these questions and many others that had tortured him all day. Was
The movie starts off where one the characters is held at gun point. Of course we all wonder how he got there, so the narrator takes us back to where it all starts. We meet an unnamed character who has insomnia. We learn about his life and that he lives a pretty decent life. Of course, we would not have a movie if our main character was content with his life. There needs to be more conflict. Due to his insomnia, he takes up going to support groups that help people in need (i.e. men with testicular cancer, alcoholics, and dying people). He soon notices a lady named Marla Singer who is showing up at the same support groups he goes to even the one for testicular cancer. He catches onto her game simply because she shows up there. Later on he is on a business flight and meets another character named Tyler Durden who is very interesting. Our noname character gets home to find that someone has blown-up his condo, so he decides to call his “single serving friend” from the plane ride.
