Over the decades, psychologists have been concerned with determining the Relative amount contributed by genetics or environmental factors to different behaviour. They also ask the question; Is human and animal behaviour determined by a person’s genes (nature), or is behaviour determined by the environment, This question bring about to what is called the nature versus nurture controversy. Many scientists assumed extreme position on the issue, while some researchers accentuated the exclusive role of genetic, others took the reverse side by denying genetic contribution and emphasizing learning and experience.

nurture; Galton was one of the first to note the importance of individual differences & effectively postulated the problems of mental inheritance and individual differences, in human capacity, The last book he wrote was English Men of Science: their nature or nurture.
Another example is psychologist Sigmund Freud (1856), Freud’s idea on the nature and nurture debate is that human development depends on nurture and nature at the same time, Freud believes that human nature contains powerful controllable innate drives and repressed memories. In a way Freud’s point of views are definitely supported by nature. As an example take the Id for instance, the Id is all due to nature, the reason being because hunger, thirst, sex and aggression is in nature.

Unlike the monozygotic twins, fraternal twins develop from different fertilized egg, and share the same prenatal environment, family and social cultural environment after birth. Example of this was a research carried out on both monozygotic twins and identical twins, the result of the identical twin showed that they both had almost everything in common both, drove the same brand of cars, married and smoked a lot cigars and had drinking habit too, and even also their sleep patterns were identical.
