Everyone has an idea of how amazing homecoming would be. I got the chance to go to the homecoming football game and the dance too. It’s great being able to spend homecoming weekend with your bestfriend and boyfriend/girlfriend. It’s so much fun and it seems like the fun never ends. Homecoming is a special event you get to have with the people you like best. You get to dress up nice, and just have fun. Here is a little about how homecoming weekend was for me. I went to the football game with my best friend at the time, Katelyn Kelley. My parents dropped us off there. We saw her family, she stopped and said hi. We walked around for a little while, and got food. We got a pickle and some chips. We saw some of her friends, so we stopped and talked to them for a while. Then, I saw my friend Tyler, so I went and hung out with him for a while and told Katelyn I would meet up with her later. He and I talked for a while, and then Katie started walking up to us. We wanted to leave, but the game wasn’t over yet. So, Tyler, Katie, and I went out of the gates and walked to his car. We asked if we could have a ride. He had a really nice car, that went really fast. We asked him to go fast, and he did. His car sounded so beautiful. But when we got back the game was almost over, so me and Katie stayed outside of the gate, but Tyler went back …show more content…
So, I begged a whole bunch of my friends to let me borrow money, because I didn’t have enough money. But, when I talked to the lady about getting me the tickets, she told me that it was fine I didn’t have enough money because the vice principal said he would pay for it. I thanked him a lot, and I eventually payed everyone back. I really appreciated my principal very much for helping me pay for the tickets. Then after I got the tickets, I went home me and Katie had a lot of fun after
Homecoming is a widely known tradition that every high school student looks forward to every year in the fall time. It consists of a great deal of preparation and activities that lead up to the big night of glitz and glamour. Students get to soak in the excitement with activities like spirit week, football games, homecoming court, and the pep rally. Everyone knows that the typical preparation of homecoming is all about the dress and hair, tuxes and ties, tickets and rides. All those tiny things will lead the dance to be reminisced after all the students graduate. On the other hand, while others prepare for a night to remember, a majority of people don’t realize what was planned behind the scenes to create such a wonderful event. The behind
I had Ashley Gilmore as a date and I was super excited about that, I had a huge thing for Ashley and this was my opportunity to make something of it. The dance itself went pretty well but it was not until the after party things took off. Rachel Hughes threw a big party at her house after the dance. It was so funny because her parents were home the entire time. They knew guys were spending the night and they were fine with it they just did not think there would be alcohol. There was a lot of it. As Rachel’s parents were sleeping in their room we hauled in coolers full and beer and who knows whatelse. There were a ton of people in that small basement and that just added to the experience. Know to add some back story, I am sure that I remember how crazy Hunter Borger and Mckenzie Smith were all throughout high school. They were off and on and just when we thought they were finally done they would hook up, it was an absolute disaster. Well Hunter asked and went with Emily Etter to homecoming that year and it did not go over well with Mckenzie. Hunter had been back and forth between Mckenzie and Emily for years now, these two girls hated each other. We never knew why Hunter went for Emily, she never dated him, she would lead him on right to where Hunter thought he was in the clear and leave him. But at the same time we never knew why Mckenzie always took him back, he clearly liked Emily more but Mckenzie was
The poem 'Homecoming' originates from Bruce Dawe. Its journey depicts the aspects of war and its devastations upon human individuals. Using mainly the Vietnam War as a demonstration for its destructions.
I got on to the bus as fast as I could. I can’t believe we were going to play our rivals for the championship. We were on our way to go to Lake City to play the Titans. It seemed that we were missing somebody but we weren’t. Coach took a head count of the team and we all were on the bus accept for Alex, he broke his foot earlier in the season. Alex and his mom were following us in her van. When Alex got hurt we were lucky to make it to the championship. Alex was our star running back. Him and I were unstoppable when we were about to score. Alex and I are the best of friends. We have been friends since fourth grade. I told him to try football and he did, but he liked soccer. We made a deal I went out for soccer for a year, but he had to go out for football. Ever since he has went out for football. Alex and I have gone out for football for four years and they have been the best four years ever. The bus ride took forever, it seemed like it. The bus so noisy everybody had to yell to be heard. The coach couldn’t even hear the bus driver, and he was right next to the bus driver. We were finally there in Lake City. When we got into the locker room coach said, “Win or lose I want you to play your heart out and no matter what we will leave with our heads held high”. We meet in the hall and somebody on the other team says something nasty, they said, “You guys are going down today”. I wished everybody “good luck today” and “make the better team
When I was a Child, I have never stopped wondering what it would be to fly in the sky. I had tried to jump from sofa or bed with an opened umbrella in my hand, and imagined myself as a flying bird. As I grow up, those wonderful fantasy become faded in my brain. I still like flying, and I had experience something like helicopter tour, but never a real fly. I always have the thoughts to explore life, to experience
Through out life people go through so many hardships. Whether it be good or bad there is always something that comes out of the situation. One of the most exciting but yet scariest events would be graduation. For a lot of people, graduating from high school is a goal. It takes a lot of time and effort to achieve that goal. In the long run, it opens a lot of opportunities for people to succeed. Graduation is the end of high school, and the beginning to life.
If you ask anyone what home means to them more than likely you’ll get several different opinions. In my case home has never been a specific place it’s always been wherever my mom was! My Mother and I have been moving from place to place ever since I could remember.
Harold Pinter's play, The Homecoming, represents a series of urban characters involved in the family relationships whose prime interest is in wining dominance over another, and the depiction of gender roles which radically severed from traditional family in urban life. This essay will explore the family relationships between the characters against traditional family and how it relates to modernity. I will exam the text in the following aspects: I will identify the way that in urban life, characters struggle for dominance over another, in attempt to assert identity in order to secure love and identity. I will then illustrate the situation of gender roles, in which possess freedom from constraints of tradition notion of being at home. Finally, I will explore the penetration of homecoming and how it against traditional family, as a way to announce itself as modern. Throughout the analysis, I argue that pinter formulate the notion that the struggling for power, constantly revolves around the city, which demonstrates the disruption of traditional family structure and relationships, in order to comment on modernity.
But I had no clue where we where going but then I found out I got to go to abbyleemillers new studio. I looked through the window it was a amazing. I also saw there was a store but they were closed. me and my dad went to the back of the studio and I went in. I took a video and pictures and took pictures of the schedules. I wished the store would be open but since I have such awesome parents they took me back to the new studio again and the store was open so of course I went in and bought a shirt. I meet the hair and makeup girl for the show and I also meet the costume maker and every costume they wear she made she let me go in the studio and everything. but the girls weren’t in the studio. but that was okay.
Throughout high school I hadn’t seen all the work that went into homecoming, I just knew it looked great. The night before homecoming I passed the cafeteria on the way to our football game to see that there weren’t any decorations. I went in to see what was going on and I found out that this year there wasn’t a homecoming committee. I then went to the teacher who usually handles those kinds of things to find out what happened. She told me that she would not be setting up this year and decorations would be left to us. Prior to that day, she hadn’t told anyone that help was needed. Knowing this was my last homecoming and something that everyone was looking forward to I had to do something. I returned to help blow up balloons and to put up the
I could "snooze" as my dad urged himself to go onward towards Arizona as he
Before I left his house I asked him if he had wanted a ride to graduation, due to the fact he was in a car accident four days prior and the only vehicle he had at the moment was his motorcycle. He responded with a polite, "Nah." That's when I knew he wanted to take his bike. When I got home I quickly got ready, I ironed my cap and gown, did my make-up and hair, and made my last phone call to Andrew. I called him right before I left and asked him if he was sure he did not want a ride.
Fun, scaring, exciting are the feelings of my first week of school. This is a brand new experience of my life having to leave my friends and teachers in middle school behind. New school, new friends and new teachers are all part of this new school year. This one is different though, it’s the first week of high school.
Graduation was the most important day in my life. I waited for this amazing day for twelve years to reach my dream and move on to college. For most people, graduation is a memorable day. It is hard for me to forget it even after a hundred years. The day I woke up realizing it was my graduation day, I was smiling all day long knowing that I had made my family proud of me. I remember everything about my graduation day: my party, cake, dress, makeup, hair, cap and gown, and the gifts I got from family and friends.
I was so ecstatic to go on this field trip and so was everyone else. Of course I knew why, everyone loves field trips. Everyone that had seen the one man show reported that it was impeccable performance. Furthermore, I was adrenalized because I didn’t have to do any work. Before the show, all I thought was that it would be a normal bus ride. One that would be loud, but everyone minded their own business.
