My Pumpkin Art (See) See my pumpkin his name is Pumpkin King. You looks so shiny like a little star up in the cold night sky. So earthy with Your little yellow flower , little orange pumpkin upon Your stem , and beans as your face . Along with your beautiful earthy bow.So fall seasoned with your oange and Browen matted paper behind you. (Hear) Now as I stand beside you as your bodyguard.I can hear a faint sound like a sweet whispering wind. Of your tears of joy .YOU HAD JUST BEEN CROWNED KING! Now I listen to the crowed cheering as the parade continuous joyfully. (Feel/Touch) For now I stand before you thinking of how short time you have to rule as the king of fall.Knowing that Fall is almost over. For now as tears of sadness run

Nicky’s father took his son out with the intention of having him look for a pumpkin and bringing it back home. Not at all did he suspect to encounter anything more but indeed he did. Nicky and his father went looking for a pumpkin at as place that he describes as “a piece of land so devoid of life and interest that from January to October, I’m certain, no one sees it at all”.
In the poem “Woodchucks” by Maxine Kumin, the speaker is in her garden and is annoyed with some woodchucks that are eating and destroying the produce in the garden. The speaker in turn tries to remove the woodchucks by using humane gas to kill them and when that is unsuccessful, she resorts to more violent means. This poem uses the annoying woodchucks to signify the Jewish people during the Holocaust by the Nazi Party.
"Two windmills", a simple poem by Geoffrey Dutton, which records the poet's memory, of living on a sheep ranch is his childhood. In depth he paints a vivid picture in the reader’s mind of the conditions in the Australian outback. This is portrayed through the use of visual and aural imagery.

The king of the birds to the kings of the ships, black eagle and white behind it, in full view, hard by the palace, by the spear-hand, ripped open a hare with her unborn still swelling inside her, stopped from her last chance to escape. Sing sorrow, sorrow, but let the good prevail.
In the poem by Joy Harjo called “Eagle Poem,” Harjo talks about prayer and life and how they revolve around mother-nature. She suggests that while being one with nature, we feel we are in a place in which we haven’t imagined and the things in which we would love to do in that magnificent and calming place. After one reads the poem, he/she enjoys the lyrical type of it. This is because “Eagle Poem” sticks to one idea and extends it throughout the entire poem. For instance, it talks about prayer, nature, and animals from start to finish.
Tonight I met him. He was so beautiful! He even has a name that would roll of one’s tongue….Romeo. How wonderful of a sound that brings to my ears. I wish, I hope, in fact, I know that he is my lord. The one and only lord that I want to have for my entire life. And, can you believe how amazing he is? Do you know what he did after the party tonight? He crept back onto the grounds of my father’s house and climbed up the side of the balcony to catch a glimpse of me. Oh, can you believe that!
"Poetry is the revelation of a feeling that the poet believes to be interior and personal [but] which the reader recognizes as his own." (Salvatore Quasimodo). There is something about the human spirit that causes us to rejoice in shared experience. We can connect on a deep level with our fellow man when we believe that somehow someone else understands us as they relate their own joys and hardships; and perhaps nowhere better is this relationship expressed than in that of the poet and his reader. For the current assignment I had the privilege (and challenge) of writing an imitation of William Shakespeare’s "Sonnet 87". This poem touched a place in my heart because I have actually given this sonnet to someone before as it then communicated my thoughts and feelings far better than I could. For this reason, Sonnet 87 was an easy choice for this project, although not quite so easy an undertaking as I endeavored to match Shakespeare’s structure and bring out his themes through similar word choice.

His grip flexed and twisted on the handle of his sword as he reminded himself that he at the very least needed to the Princess alive until he had turned her in. She went on as he expected her to. Lines that he'd imagined a thousand times over the last few years, listening to them in his mind again and again, and taking a measure of joy in just how he pictured it would all go. And of course after having served under her for so long his prediction was rather accurate. She began with begging and pleading veiled as pleasantries and kindness, with offers to restore everything that she'd stripped from him that day years ago, and ending with such a haughty air as if she thought her offer would assuredly make up for so many years of pain and mockery and loss. She was so desperate to live but that damned false pride of hers would be her undoing.
The haiku titled The Unnecessarily Long Title for My Super Awesome Amazing Poem of Super Great Instructions for Online English Discussion Boards by Thomas Talasco is an interesting poem which highlights the vulnerabilities of freedom when it is given to students.
