I believe adversity is life's challenges Adversity is life’s way of testing and preparing us for things to come. Throughout life, this adversity will be presented with different challenges that we must face head on, whether that be injury, school, or even a bully. But in my case thus far it has seemed to be injury.
I was born with a disorder called Amblyopia, an eye problem in which both eyes come out lazy. The doctors were really scared for my future, the ability to see properly, have a depth perception, and having the same opportunities as everybody else. They thought it would never be fixed, that perhaps I would forever struggle. But before I even knew it I was just being presented with my first of many challenges. This challenge however

I made the choice to ride my bike down a steep hill, as a result I crashed. I was hit so hard on impact my bike pedal went just about half way through my leg. This happened at a bad time as the football season started in two weeks. But because I made the decision to go down that hill I was on crutches for two months and the doctors said I was lucky I did not tear any tendons in my knee or even hit a main artery and bleed out on the spot. I was crushed, I remember telling myself “I will never be able to get back to normal”. But I stayed strong, with the help of my family, friends, and even teachers. When I felt weakest I would always think of how much I took the life around me for granted, everyday things that were now made difficult were the most missed. I never thought I would miss walking, running, playing sports, or even showering. But I did. It was like being trapped in a glass box-stuck, forced to watch the World around me. This taught me the importance of living your life to the fullest, and doing what you love with your time, because you never know how much time you have left to do the things you love. With this I learned to truly enjoy just the simplest things in life, and don't take them for granted because you never know when you could be back in the glass box
Everyday, we go through situations and experiences that affect us in someway, perhaps even change us. Different situations have different effects. The more difficult the situation is, the more of an effect it has on us. Those hard times can be called adversity. How do we, as humans, react to adversity? What are the possible effects it may have?
Adversity. A time of misfortune or distress. It’s like facing a problem that is super difficult to overcome. Many people think that they have gone through the worst—that they they have faced the most problems. But have they met Henrietta Lacks, Douglas Mawson, and Phineas Gage? Henrietta Lacks, Douglas Mawson, and Phineas Gage are all amazing people who have gone through the worst for the consideration of science. Doctors took healthy cells from Henrietta Lacks without her consent, and they then used them for research to make millions of dollars. Going on a hard, difficult journey was the story of Douglas Mawson; he also lost his only friends and almost died a few times. Phineas Gage’s story is also filled with adversity, in which he had an iron rod shoot through his head while staying conscious. Out of all of these people, however, Phineas Gage endured the most adversity for many reasons.
The Struggle Of Building Adversity means difficulties or misfortune. When someone's dealing with things or a situation turns out to go against them, they face adversity. Adversity is something someone comes across in life, it's like being part of a person. Decisions and actions are influenced by a lot of things. Conflicts influence all kinds of actions and decisions, depending on the person.
Once, a wise soul has spoken, “Sometimes adversity is what you need to face in order to become successful”. Adversity means having troubles and difficulties. It’s what you need to persevere through in order to do something you’ve wanted to do for a long time. If you want to pass that test, you’ve gotta conquer your fears and fight through all the troubles that arrive in front of you. Become your own hero. Adversity is a situation that took place in the novel “The Outsiders”, by S.E. Hinton.
Adversity is a time of trouble, problem or difficulty for a person. Adversity is a problem that makes a person struggle. Adversity also can affect a person in a positive or negative way. In the story of Victor Frankenstein, the Monster is a creature that Victor Frankenstein made. Once he took his first breath, he was being rejected by everyone which cause him to go through a lot of challenges. Similarly, in the biography of Frida, Frida was a talented artist who had a lot of difficulties in her life. The Monster faced more adversity in his life than Frida.
My philosophy of success, is me growing into the person I want to become and being comfortable with the choices I decide to make in life. Success is not something I can achieve overnight, it’s something I must plan for then proceed to working hard for it as well. Without hard work, there isn’t anything successful about the job I want to get done or the job I wish to get done. Doing anything without hard work and dedication, and expecting the best outcome is not success; it’s mediocrity. Being mediocre/ will only allow me or anyone else to have a ‘Victim’s Mindset.’
Obstacles are common and they normally occur within our life journeys. Although their occurrence is not expected, obstacles that we face in life makes our lives become not only challenging and more interesting but also more meaningful. They challenge us to keep trying to do our best to achieve what we have been dreaming of and looking for.
Adversity can be found in cultural, literary, and historical references. A largely known cultural reference that adversity can be found in is The Parable of the Good Samaritan. In this allegory, the Samaritan experiences adversity through taking pity on a man who had been beaten and stripped of everything in his possession. The Samaritan broke away from their unholy and impure stereotype in order to help this battered man in need. Doing this allowed adversity to be shown on a cultural level through dissipating social “norms” which in turn changed the Samaritans character into a better and more helpful person. Historical references can be used to remind us that adversity is everywhere. A perfect example of an adverse time in history is the Holocaust. Countless Jewish people were persecuted and forced to live in a world of hardship and danger in which they never knew if they would survive another day. They faced adversity due to the fact that they were not like the others which was something that was out of their control. Survivors of the Holocaust lived the rest of their lives in fear and apprehension due to the adversity they faced throughout this torturous
I will never give up. I will never allow failure to be an option. I will set goals and I will achieve them. We are obstacles are set in front of us daily. Daily obstacles can range from waking up in the morning when we are overworked to losing a limb or a love done. However, when the outcome is not in my favor I will utilize the situation to find my weaknesses and build a better me for the next battle.
Overcoming adversity is imperative. In fact, you can 't have the happiness and success you want unless you have adversity in your life and overcome it. It is essential for progressing into who you want to be. It shows you what you are made of. It teaches you more about yourself, how to approach what you want, and how to maintain the success that you have. Without it, you wouldn 't know how far you could go or how capable you are because you wouldn 't have anything to push you or compare to.
I am imperfect, but I try and lead a more engaged life today – Live simple and not simply live, Lead with Spirit Always try to do the right things right and Take time to reboot the soul.
Success is defined as the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. What does is success mean to you? One might compare success to financial gain. This is not always true everyone lives their lives in different ways and have beliefs that define their life. In my opinion to have a successful life you must do something you love, cannot be afraid to fail, and ultimately must be a hard worker.
Death is one of the hardest things to over come; while others have developed paganism for death it’s ultimately the scariest thing to face in life. Losing a best friend, a family member, or the love of your life. Therefore the death of someone special is definitely the hardest thing to face. Many people believe when someone dies, they’re sleeping, and they wake up when Jesus comes again and brings you to heaven with him, this is called Christianity, however, Buddhism believe when the body dies it disappears, but the mind goes on, which means you have no after life to experience. I personally believe after you die, you will go to a very special place, with past family members who have passed away. I also believe if you don’t think there is a God you will go to
There are numerous lessons that I have learned from life, they were lessons that I learned from good and bad experiences in life. Different experiences from school and out of school that has made me the way I am today. There is a long list of experiences that in reality did not teach me much.
I have a very fulfilling feeling about what I have been able to accomplish in my life so far. I want the absolute best for myself and those close to me. I often go above and beyond to help those around me succeed and be the best version of themselves that they can possibly be.
