“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.”- Martin Luther King Jr. And isn’t he right. We all have dreams, whether it’s you or me. If only we could all create our own perfect world, one that would satisfy all of our wants and needs. It may seem impossible, but what if we could? I believe anything is possible. It’s just as possible for me to hate the color pink, collect dictionaries, and own genetically modified flying pigs (when pigs fly) as it is for me to create a perfect world. And supposing it is possible, I will begin with my idea of a perfect world, a world where there would be no surprises and no mistakes. In my perfect world, there would be no surprises. Most surprises that are deliberately prepared for a person are meant to have satisfying results for both the receiver and the one who prepared for it in the first place, but the good intentions can often be misjudged or just somehow go wrong. In a simple scenario, a family member or friend decides to give a puppy or kitten as a present for the holidays. Everyone is supposed to be happy, but it turns out that someone is allergic, the new pet does not get along well with another pet, or the landlord happens to not allow fuzzy little balls of fur in the apartment building. Either way, there is some excuse that makes the present unsuitable for the family. This holiday gift is then returned to the animal shelter, where it joins many other unwanted pets where they live in great stress and fear until they are adopted, or put to rest due to overcrowding of shelters. This happens to more than half of the pets given as holiday gifts in the United State... ... middle of paper ... ...d the better? Mistakes are also bad because they can create chaos and pandemonium. A single misplacement of a document can mess up an entire company. Misprints on the price of an airplane ticket can cause a company to lose hundreds of thousands of dollars. And making the mistake of not telling someone something can cause death, misunderstandings, and other troublesome occurrences. Mistakes are negative events indeed. In conclusion, a world without surprises and mistakes is a perfect world. This perfect world would succeed, too. The fact that the people living in the perfect world are perfect themselves allows the world to succeed in becoming a utopia. Besides, the most awful mistakes are made when surprises are made, so when you take away surprises…you take away mistakes, too. A world with no surprises and no mistakes is a perfect world. And that, is not a surprise.
I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.
Mistakes are made by everyone whether it be because of confusion, lack of correct information, or just an accident. Mistakes are what make us human because we can't be perfect
Dr. King announced the “I Have A Dream” speech in front of 200,000 African American families and to a few Caucasians who were at the scene of his speech. Dr. King’s speech was mainly addressed to the African Americans, to explain one day there will be equality in all Caucasians and other ethnicities such as; Hispanics, Native Americans and Asian Americans. Therefore at the time of his speech, his audiences were to the 200,000 people who attended the speech but he was also referring to all other ethnicities as well. To his audience for example, he said as the future years pass, the hardship they are going through would pay off for the future children. For example, in his speech he said, “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be jugged by the color of their skin but by their content of character.
In Dr. King’s words: “Let us all hope that the dark clouds of racial prejudice will soon pass away and the deep fog of misunderstanding will be lifted from our fear drenched communities, and in some not too distant tomorrow the radiant stars of love and brotherhood will shine over our great nation with all their scintillating beauty.”
At first glance, a world without any mistakes would be a utopia. However, this couldn’t be farther from the truth. Mistakes are essential to learning and deciphering right from wrong. Even some of the most useful inventions today were created by mistake. Mistakes are a crucial part of the learning process and can help build up character or strength over time. Humans frequently make errors, therefore, mistakes shouldn’t be perceived negatively.
The author of the “I Have A Dream” speech is Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. King, known for his work in Civil Rights during the 1960s. In this informative speech, Dr. King inspires individuals to have a change in both white and black citizens during the Civil RIghts era in the United States. Moreover, the premise of the speech is that both sides of the discussion must accept change in a non-violent yet effective way. He spoke about the injustices of segregation and discrimination of black citizens that was occurring in our nation. As he opened, “I am happy to join with you today in what will go down in history as the greatest demonstration for freedom in the history of our nation,” he explained what he was there to do for all citizens. "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character." -- Martin Luther King, Jr.
On August 28th, 1963, Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his most notable speech. He proclaimed to all that would listen, “I have a dream! I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin... but by the content of their character!” This affirmation introduced the color-blind ideology to the American people. Dr. King's revelation is based on the premise that there is no profiling on the individual based on the color of their skin. This ensures the avoidance of superiority and inferiority and enforces equality. The problem that has arised following the declaration of the speech is the issue of applied social colorblindness. While King explicitly states that we should not assume the character of a person based solely on appearance, it has been misinterpreted as meaning that we should completely ignore race, ethnicity, and culture when acknowledging people entirely.
To begin, “It is not to be expected that human nature will change in a day,” said Frank Kellogg, an American politician. No one can change their ways in a day, especially not a humanity as a whole. Each human being has imperfections within themselves, which leads to mistakes. How can one live in a utopia, if their actions are not up to code? They can’t. Near perfection is not possible within an imperfect society. If one person decided to change their ways, everyone else would have to follow in the same direction, in order to continue the “status quo”. Therefore, how can there be a faultless society, because within that society you do not have flawless
Martin Luther King Jr. pointed out "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but the content of their character"(I Have a Dream). In this address, Martin Luther King Jr. educated, inspired and informed America that we could live equal and together. Martin Luther King Jr. seized the moment by repeating "Now is the time"(Martin Luther King Jr.) during the march on Washington in his fight for jobs and freedom. Martin Luther King Jr. used words like "My Country Tis'of Thee" and "Let Freedom Ring" to introduce that this was not only a race problem but, to place this issue on a national level. Martin Luther King Jr. expressed that blacks should struggle with a high level of dignity and discipline, and we should not seek to separate ourselves from whites.
The Utopian land is divided into two main terrains: farmland and cities. The farmlands, of course, are where most of the country's resources are produced. The services of the economy, smithing, carpentry, clothmaking, etc., are mainly produced in the cities. Iron is the only resource which must be imported abundantly. All of the resources, except iron, that the nation requires, it produces on its own.
If I had to design a utopia and turn it into an actual something, I would make it almost exactly like earth is now... but it would have some major adjustments.
you to suffer repeatedly. From your own mistakes you can gain wisdom and accelerate self-improvement, mistakes because of their relationship with risk taking, are essential to success. The important thing is to view mistakes as a useful stepping stone to a higher reality and better outlook on life. All humans have the capability and opportunity to learn from their mistakes through positivity.
Mistakes are actually a very influential part of a person’s upbringing in life. Mistakes shape a person’s character to make them who they are today. A mistake can teach someone many different life lessons that will better them as a person and make their lives more enjoyable. A person will commit a mistake usually when he or she is distracted. Distraction is the number one cause of mistakes in our world today. Many people are afraid of making mistakes, so they play it safe in life and don’t strive to achieve everything they are capable of achieving. This is a very bad thing. People should not be afraid of the potential mistakes there are to be made. Instead, they should focus more on the great lengths they could go in life by pursuing their goals. Mistakes will happen on life’s journeys,
