Education will always be the deciding probability on whether their generation’s future will be a superior one. This is why we need to establish a sense of maturity, intellect and motivation in the students through their education. And in order to do that we must teach them to be free-thinkers and imaginative and not hold them back like the education system is doing now. The ideal education system to me would be one that does not restrict the student’s imagination, thoughts, or ideas and does not stress the students out to the point there is an increasing amount of students with depression and anxiety. The student should not feel oppressed and should not have thoughts of suicide, they should be enjoying their education and should have a bright future ahead of them. The teachers play a pivotal role in the students’ education as a whole, they are the people that can make or break their attitudes toward their education. For example, I had this one Spanish teacher that would not get up and teach us the …show more content…
The first change I would make to the education is to improve the teachers, even if it means careful evaluation and the termination of many teachers. This is in the best interest of the students, so what needs to be done, should be done. Teachers are very important to the future generation’s welfare, so they need to be as effective as possible. They need to do more than give bookwork, they need to teach their curriculum, they should also teach their students what everything means and its significance like Paulo Freire suggests in The “Banking” Concept of Education. Thinking about schools as a whole, I believe they should be established in respect to Montessori’s ideas. Students should be able to choose the classes they attend to keep them eager and interested. This also helps the student get a more specialized education in high school to prepare them better for their future college major or
This article points out the flaws in our modern education systems. Students should enjoy school and feel as though they are learning important things in the subjects offered. The classes can be altered to tend to the interests of children, so they can properly express themselves. School should be preparing children to be mature, how to handle hard situations, and ultimately prepare them for their future lives. Overall, Gatto’s article has its flaws, but it can be used to help improve the education system for upcoming
Growing up, I have always known that I wanted to work in the education field. I believe helping students learn and grow is my purpose in life. I believe the purpose of education is to see students develop and grow. I believe the role of the student is to come to school and learn new information that they can apply to their lives. I believe the role of the paraprofessional is to be the assistant for the teacher and provide assistance to the students. I believe the community plays a major role in education, especially the parents and guardians. They are a part of their child 's education and provide support for them when they need it most. Education is not going away anytime soon, so we need to look at what education
The education system has been changing in recent years and the same problems that existed continue to get worse as years pass. Problems that were seen as minor at first have now grown. How to change the public higher education system has been a major topic of discussion but there has still been no major action taken. We struggle to figure out how much funding is needed for higher education and where it should come from. Our people continue to suffer from an underfunded high cost system. The wealthy minority of people continue to be the only ones accounted for and it is time to change this. We need to adapt to the changes and the costs that continue to rise. It is time to help the struggling middle and lower classes. I believe that the best
It is clear that our current education system is not working well. In education, adaptation is what “works, and public schools are not adapting” to children (Galston). Public education in America today, uses the same philosophy that was used during the Protestant Reformation when schools were used to teach scripture and promote obedience to authority figures, without questioning that authority (Gray). Although the information being taught has changed, the way it is taught has not. Public school is still “designed for indoctrination and obedience training, but not much else” (Gray). Currently, “learning is motivated by a system of rewards and punishments rather than by curiosity or by any real desire to know,” even though “research has shown that people of all ages learn best when they are self-motivated” (Gray). Anyone who has attended public school will tell you, that a vast majority of students are not motivated to learn in that environment. The pillars of a healthy education are “curiosity, playfulness, and sociability,” none of which are prominent in the public school system and all of which are in Montessori (Gray). The Montessori Method does not fit within the standards of the public school curriculum so it has its
In reality, people with an education tend to be very successful while the people without an education tend to be unsuccessful. Education is a key factor that defines the basis of human-beings and lays the foundation for human development. It also plays a major role in creating a huge gap in the division within the social classes. This huge gap is due to unsuccessful education that exists in society. There are many factors that contribute to unsuccessful education which include expensive education, the quality of education, and disadvantaged individuals. Education is an important aspect of society that needs affordability, skilled and professional teachers, and resources in order to be successful and conform to societal standards.
...o receive a Montessori education will succeed academically and will know how to handle real life situations more so than those who receive a traditional method of teaching.
When we talk about education, we remember our teachers of elementary, middle and high school because they left their mark on our lives, and are who we truly taught things that even we , and we have to our knowledge, is that the main purpose of my philosophy educational. The basis of my educational philosophy pragmatism. The goal of education for pragmatists is the socialization of the individual and the transmission of cultural ideas of man to new generations. In this way, new generations have no need to repeat it step by step, the experiences of their ancestors (Riestra, 1970). The school must be active in developing critical thinking in the learner. This should not be a passive entity in the process of their education, you must learn to learn . The school must prepare students for this interaction with their environment that is always changing.
There is no more critical role in our current society than that of a teacher’s. Teachers help shape the minds of the future. Tomorrow's engineers, scientists, politicians, and educators are all greatly influenced by today's instructors. Without teachers society would not be anywhere near where it is now, and only a select few would have access to learning. Sadly however important teachers are in human civilization, they are still drastically understated, unrecognized and under paid.
When I look back to my young developing stages in life, I always ask myself where would I be today if it wasn’t for my teachers? Teachers are the ones who build our future generations. Preparing children and teens for higher education. Also playing a huge part in shaping children’s lives, enlightening them, and educating them about society and the world around them; the types of things that a parent doesn’t have time for, or just lacks the knowledge of. I think teachers are what help make this world go round.
Education gives people the competence and skills to pilot the world. It also allows people to provide and contribute to their society and community. Like Nelson Mandela said “ Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”. Similar to our lives, our educational journeys are different from one another. My educational journey was a very complicated journey. My family and mentors supported me, so was able to overcome those obstacles. The biggest motivation that got me through this journey was my father’s courage and love for education.
Teachers serve as the guiding force in a student’s life. They are responsible for molding a student’s personality and shaping his/her mental orientation. Teachers deeply impact our lives and direct the course of our future. One cannot deny the influence of teachers in one’s life. In fact, it would not be an exaggeration to say that, till a certain age, out life revolves around our teachers. They are our constant companions, until we grow old enough to come out of their shadow and move ahead on our own.
If I owned my own school, it would reflect on all the positive features that my elementary and secondary schools offered me. Education opens minds that were closed, but now they are open because of the experiences the student had. Schooling gives you the materials you need to help in the work world and teaches you how to be a powerful member of society. Education is important because you are able to connect with teachers who become close to you. Community is just one aspect of a school that makes it powerful. Teachers are another aspect that can make the school significant. Instilment of positive values is final aspect of school that can make it influential too. My ideal school contains the aspects of what I have come from. All of these ideals
Good teachers set high expectations and motivate the students to meet those expectations. As students strive for excellence, teachers assist students in meeting their highest potential through daily lessons. Teachers also serve as role models. Teachers make a contribution to society by preparing students for their real world endeavors. They teach students through example to be kind, respectful, humble, patient and determined.”
My goal as a teacher is to improve my student’s education and help them grow knowledgably. I like to see students at different levels develop with each other and learn. I want to challenge the students and watch them grow to their highest level of education. Therefore, having the students in groups is the best educational strategy I like to use a lot. I want my students to have freedom with whatever creativity they want, and to allow them to express themselves at any time. With this freedom students will be able to experiment with likes and dislikes and be able to figure their weaknesses and strengths. Education is for everyone and it’s a right by low for all; teachers, on the other hand, should do their jobs very honestly and effectively.
Education is an enterprise involving the drawing out of the inherent capabilities of people. The purpose of education is to contribute positively to increasing the participation of diverse individuals in ways that are meaningful to them and which lead to increased educational equity for all. Education is the key to a successful future.
