I believe a leader is an individual who inspires, motivates, and influence on someone who has an array of decisions to make. I am that leader.
High School was a new phase in my life that I had no one to relate to in my family. My parents, being immigrants from Central America never experienced high school in the United States. I entered as a freshman, not knowing what to expect, less not knowing how to create a successful road to the eminent idea of college that all my teachers encouraged. I wanted to attend college, I just did not understand how to make my high school career the most, so I can be prepared for the next step of my life. I did make the JV team freshman year and Sophomore year I made the Varsity team. I completed my initial goal I strived for in High School.
I still had two years of school ahead of me and high school was set as an obligation-a must graduation by my parents. I already accomplished what I set to accomplish freshmen year. However, toward the end of my Sophomore year I did not want to make my last half of high school without any value. I decided to make my highschool career one that I would not regret and wish I would have revolutionized my campus later in life. I believed it was time for a change on my campus. I placed myself back in my shoes as a freshmen; I remembered I was a lost individual trying to fit in with no plan. A selected amount of other individuals and I inaugurated the first Link Crew club on my campus. A club set out to create strong older-sibling type relationships with incoming freshmen at my school. The first time I met my assigned group of freshmen during Freshmen Orientation over the summer, I knew from the first ice-breaker activity that this was something I wanted to do.
