Breathing is easy. It takes no thought, no practice. The only evidence is a slight fluctuation of air...in and out. The expansion of the chest… in and out. Time moves as a breath amongst us. Time moves as a breath amongst us. The exhale of time, when eyes rest and darkness seeps in. Time inhales and the bustle of life begins again. Unlike breathing, however, time is not a constant. It’s only a perception that grows more and more rapid.
The fluctuation of time makes goals become no longer an advised task, but a task that will ensure my senior year is not a waste nor just long lost memories. I want to make an effort to make the most of my senior year so that, like my second goal, I have the opportunity to open doors that were once closed to me, and to plan for a successful future.

“Time is what we want most, but what we use worst.” William Penn identified a major human flaw and through that I have recognized it in my own life.
It is an easy to say that I want to make the most of my senior year, but doing it is a different story, especially if I do not set smaller goals.Setting less extravagant goals will help me to meet my own expectations. In order to make the most of my senior I will stay involved. Being involved in my community and school allows me to experience opportunities that would not be available to me at home. In addition, many seniors are their own worst enemies when it comes to meeting their goals, I am determined not to be the obstacle that keeps me from living my senior year to the fullest. Ultimately the crowning achievement of my senior year is graduation. Graduation isn’t the end,not even close, it’s just the beginning. I know that by achieving these goals my senior year will be the best year I have had yet at Delta High
School. My secondary goal is to attain knowledge to make myself more diverse as I begin the final chapter of my high school career. In the words of Benjamin Franklin, “ An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.” I believe that investing in my own knowledge and capabilities is the first step to unlocking doors that lead to a brighter future. In order to enhance this goal I wish to become certified in numerous areas. Before the conclusion of my senior year I intend on becoming CPR certified. Obtaining CPR certification is an important part of increasing my diverse skill set. In addition, I am looking forward to becoming a certified soccer referee. Learning every rule and knowing how to apply them will benefit me greatly when the start of soccer season appears around the corner. Undoubtedly, becoming a certified diver is ultimately the most exhilarating and mysterious door I wish to venture into. In Fact, because of the mystery and imaginable beauty Marine Biology was a temporary career interest. While my interests have changed, becoming a diver allows me to attain the main portion of the career that I was attracted to. Investing in one's own intelligence is not difficult, for anyone, having the effort to pursue intelligence is where many stumble. Through the assistance of these goals it will not be challenging to attain a diverse variety of knowledge in my skill sets. Planning for a healthy future means different things for different students, however, every senior has to make his or her own choices about their future. As for me, receiving a college education is the next step preceding high school. “Education is the passport to the future, for those who prepare for it today.”
Walter Kirn successfully unearths some of the worst aspects of senior year. However, these reasonings are not sound enough to condone the discontinuation of it. Any issues found are the fault of the student or the school administration, not the grade level itself. Senior year is worth holding on to for both the persistence of learning and for solidifying relationships. Kirn mentions with pleasure his choice to leave high school early. Nonetheless the four year high school experience should not be demoralized by those who wish to value it for the irreplaceable opportunity it is.
People say high school is supposed to be the golden years of your life. I don’t know what else in life is to come; however, my philosophy is to live in the moment and make the life you’re living in the present worthwhile into the future, not only for you but for those who surround you. I live my life participating in our community and getting involved in our school. The activities, and the people I’ve formed relationships with, are what have formed me into the person I have become today. The person I am today is not perfect, but I have learned from the mistakes I’ve made. I think the sense of maturity I have developed throughout my life has given me the determination to be the best person I can be. That being said, I would love to be inducted into the National Honor Society and not only represent our school, but represent our generation to the community not as a “selfie” generation but as a generation, with great potential.
Seniors, the last half of the year is hard, almost graduated, almost free from hours and hours of homework, but, don’t give up on your goals. Keep doing what you do best finish out strong. And fight for what you want and keep
My Senior year in High School has officially begun, only one more year at Corona High. I know that Senior year is supposed to be fun, but I believe every year is an opportunity to improve. I have already set my goals for this school year. I believe I can achieve a GPA of 4.0 or above. However, there are some personal goals that I need to complete first. I need to stop my terrible habit of procrastinating. Another goal of mine is to pass my AP tests so I can earn college credit. I also want to learn new things, so I started to learn the basics of Coding, now I need to finish this course. These are some things I look to accomplish this year.
Senior year. The year known for its “lasts” of everything and the start of one 's adulthood. It’s also a busy part of life- college applications, college acceptance, graduation, and even get to know what the terminal disease “senioritis” feels like. Senior year is the last year that I will get the chance to cheer on the football team every Friday night, running track every Thursday, as well as seeing my favorite teachers on a day to day basis. This year is my year, the year that is going to change everything that I have ever known. Senior year is the year that will impact myself, my friends, my family, as well as everyone that surrounds me. It will be the year of change.
My senior year is very important and that is why I must use it efficiently. There are many things I hope to accomplish during my senior year. Graduation is my top priority because if I do not graduate my future will be in jeopardy. Clubs and extra activities are very important for college acceptance. I hope to get certified in the areas in which I have been training for. Getting into college so that I can be successful is the main goal in my life is. I hope to get accepted to a college or university by the end of my senior year. My schedule will be busy but I will
Being a senior to me means more that just one thing. It means my last ten football games, senior project and, graduating. It seems like yesterday that I was in eighth grade watching my brother play football on the same field I am now. Back then being a senior in high school seemed so far away that I never took the time to think about it or anything. Now that it’s here I wonder where the time went.
With all the college prep, all the studying, and all the tests that senior year is going to consist of its important to remember what life is all about: enjoying the little things. Senior year is supposed to be your best year ever except for most its
Starting off this senior year, I was a child. I’m proud to tell you that through ten months of guidance from teachers, counselors and family members, I can proudly call myself a man. Before you move on to the next letter, I guarantee you’ll be a greater senior. These next five-hundred words will prepare you for not only this school-year, but whatever you pursue afterwards. The first and best piece of advice I can give you to cherish throughout this year is to never ever be afraid. Never put your head down and say you’re defeated. Always hold your fist up high and be proud of whatever it is you’re doing. Never be ashamed.
Our future is the direct byproduct of our past and our present. Every experience that we have, all the emotions we feel, it all comes together in a melting pot that gives us a new perspective on life as well as teaching us lessons for the future, even if it can 't be applied to the present or may not even seem clear at the moment. I have always been torn between picking a field in medicine versus a field in engineering, and at times I have wanted to follow both simultaneously. My goal in life is to follow either path, but the end product being that I get to use the skills I will acquire and the money I will make to help fund schools in the third world as well as helping to set up clinics as I have seen first hand what the conditions can be like in the third world. The activities that I take part in will contribute to my future and will help be successful during my time at college/university and that in turn will help me reach the aforementioned goals.
In my final year of highschool, I honestly feel like I have limited myself from change but at the same time I've improved enough to say that I have grown throughout my four years of highschool. To prove that I´ve grown, I'll compare my senior year to freshmen year academically and morally. My freshmen year, I was told by previous seniors that my first year wouldn't contribute to my graduation requirements. I believed in those words and proceeded to slack off until junior year, that's when I realized that even if it didn't matter, I would have a major effect on my effort. As a senior now, I've noticed that every year affects not only your graduation requirements but also you as a person.Since graduation is around the
Graduation is an exciting time in a person’s life, especially a high school graduation. When I think of family and friends gathering together to celebrate a joyous occasion, I feel I accomplished my strongest goal. It never occurred to me that graduation would be the end of my youth and the start of adulthood. Graduating from high school was an influential event that gave me an altered outlook on my existence. Life before graduation, preparing for graduation day, and commencement day overwhelmed me for reality.
My senior year of high school…I want to enjoy people’s company, appreciate my family’s presence, and keep a permanent Polaroid of my “home town” etched in my memory. I have a purpose for the year, I know what I want to accomplish for the future, but I have to remember to make the most out of today because there may not always be a tomorrow.
Many people tend to set goals. They can set goals for their personal life, academics, or even for their professional lives. You can literally set a goal for pretty much anything you can imagine. I believe that people should set goals, they help you stay focused and want to do better for the future. Goals change all of the time though, because of a lot of different reasons, maybe you found that one thing just really is not what you want to do with your life, so you find something else to do. To me that is just how life is, my goals will most likely change as I am getting older and trying to find what I want to do with the rest of my life.
True education is an immense topic. There are schools, books, teachers, experiences, reflections, decisions, oneself, and innumerable more ways to learn. Everyone has their own favorite ways to learn, but to get a full education one needs a combination of them. Senior year evokes unique images for everyone; it is a time of change for everyone who has ever attended high school. Senior year has taught me so much. So far during my senior year I have learned more than I have for a long time.
