My Experience: My Seven Day Trip To The Bahamas

One of the few vacations my family ever went to, was a seven day cruise. At the age of 12, my mom took my sister, grandparents, and I, on a cruise to the Bahamas. I have never been on a boat before, much less a cruise, so I have never experienced being on the sea. As excited as a 12-year-old could be, I embarked on this journey. After a quick two hour trip on plane, we arrived in Florida. As I stepped outside the airport, the warm, humid air hit me. Unfamiliar with this type of weather, it almost felt exhausting. We gathered on a crowded bus, as it took us to the cruise. I was able to the see the 300-feet tall ship from a mile away. Afterwards, we were taken to a long line, where hundreds of other people were boarding the ship.
The first day I was there, I immediately felt out of place. The staff was extremely nice and they were tending to almost all of my needs. They delivered our luggage to our rooms, clean our room, and etc. Now, my entire life, I spend tending to other people’s needs, since my family ran a restaurant and I helped out a lot. This was unexpected since I was used to taking care of my own stuff and cleaning my own room. The experience was startling. As I started exploring the cruise ship, which was huge. Since, the cruise was so big and heavy, I couldn’t really feel the rocking or rolling of the boat. Now, when I stare at the ocean, I could certainly feel the rolling, but it was inside my head. The cool ocean breeze was constantly blow against me on deck. The cruise ship had all kinds of pools such as, saltwater pools, hot tubs, and water slides. At all times, the pools were maintained at room temperature, so we could go swimming anytime. The sun was always shining at a hot temperature, since we were close to the equator.
