I have written many essays in my life but some I have given more effort than others. There is only two essays that I am very proud of. The reason for that is because when I write I tend to write professional because I have been told that the essay that sounds maturely tends to get a good grade, so I’m not able to express myself fully. The most memorable piece of writing that I have ever done, was based on a discourse community. The discourse community that I personally chose was about Video Gamers, particularly gamers who play Destiny (First-Person Shooter Video Game). This was my recent essay that I have done.

I had to put what shared activities the members performed and how many of these activities they completed. I had to put the certain words they used which was what a normal teenage person would say to his friends. The type of writing skills the members did was the same of a teenager text messages to his buddies. Then I had to put information on how newcomers can enter the community. Then I had to list the downside of not joining the group which were that the newcomer wouldn’t be able to talk with the group again since he wasn’t successful in joining them. The group’s mission was a very easy task, have fun and enjoy the game. Then I had to present this data to someone wanting to join the group. It was some form of guide to insure their spot. The reason that it inspired me to write this essay about discourse community was because we are a group of friends who are sometimes retards who like to play video games and have fun.
