World War Two was fought by almost all of the major powers. After the end of World War I, and the world wide depression, the Second World War creeped on the horizon. After the Treaty of Versailles which demilitarized Germany, the German people elected a leader for Germany that would hopefully rid them of their economic, political, and social problems caused by the Treaty of Versailles. (Georg Franz-Willing) This leader would be the future dictator of Germany and the leader of the Nazi party, Adolf Hitler. Following Germany’s invasion of Poland, the Allied powers declared war on Germany. These two opposing sides each had their advantages and factors that would lead them to be successful against their rivals. Among these advantages, the military leaders during the war were extremely influential in the course of the war. While the United States forces had great leaders such as General Marshall, General Eisenhower, George S. Patton and the UK had military leaders such as Field Marshal Alan Brooke and Hugh Dowding, the German forces had one of the most skilled and respected military leaders of the 20th century, Field Marshal Erwin Rommel.
