Now that choice can seem like a difficult one because there are many factors that can vary on both sides, but selling songs for advertisement is the better choice. Musicians should sell their music for advertising because it is an easier way to make money, gain a following and survive in the music industry. Artists should use their music as advertising because it is an efficient way to make money. A tour and making an album can cost a lot of money. Costs are rising these days, you have to pay booking agents and tour managers, you also have to pay for transportation, gas, and food. Even the cost of creating merchandise can be costly. Online music streaming can be a big help to musicians who are trying to get their music out there and be heard by a wider audience(Jacob Carter). Stacia Coates states, “Some bands have thoroughly embraced branding and see it more as an opportunity rather than a necessity.” The band The Black Eyed Peas learned that the more they marketed and got involved in branding the more successful they were with fans(Stacia Coates). “For artists serious about their careers, turning down any form of corporate sponsorship or licensing agreements could be a mistake.
