From the famous LaLaurie house in New Orleans to Halloween night in 1961. America has seen it’s fair share of murders but what happens to the houses that are left behind.

TREATMENT:
This series will explore the phenomenon of a “Murder House” and residents who currently occupy them. It’s Architectural Digest meets Discovery’s “A Haunting”. This is sure to be one of the more horrifying shows chronicling disturbing murders that have occurred around America.

Michael Whalen is an energy trader in Houston bought the house in 2010. We find out which “Murder House” they own - the famous LaLaurie’s House in New Orleans has become an institution over the years, even actor Nicolas Cage owned the house once upon a time.

ACT 1-5: We begin our tour of the house. As Whalen takes us on a tour of the house from room to room we shown through his newly renovated home and flashback to the past where snippets of gory history is told through dramatization and historical experts.

Whalen has gone through great lengths to renovate this murder house even paying tribute to it’s gruesome past. Over the 180 plus years this 10,000-square-foot murder house and it’s slave quarters have served as a private residence, girl’s school, furniture store, rental apartments, homeless shelter and finally back to a private residence. Whalen brought on interior designer Katie Stassi-Scott to turn this torture chamber into a modern day beauty. Some of the design details they incorporated were skull linens, religious elements, spooky purple drapes and a mix of light and dark to create a modern French Quarter
