In my opinion and my understanding is that base on the evidence presented on this case Mr Joe may potentially sexual assault Mrs. Davenport base on the fact the Mr. Joe have escape the premises of Whispering Willows in such of hurry. In another hand we have Mrs. Davenport in such of distress that is leading her to denied all allegations of possible sexual assault, without the victim collaboration it will be almost impossible to prosecute the possible responsible for such of horrific act, in case it found guilty. In my opinion this is very sensitive situation and needs to be handling with discretion, the police should interview any residents that live next door to Mrs. Davenport or the neighbors on the same floor that it could be possible that they may see …show more content…
Base on the information provided by Mrs. Davenport, it is not to clear if the sexual assault has taken place. It could be possible that perhaps Mr. Joe could be confused base on Mrs. Davenport behavior toward him, maybe he thought that she really like him in a different way and try to kiss the older lady and she got scared and thought he was going to hurt her. It could be possible that Mr. Joe also got scare after finding out that Mrs. Davenport only was trying to be nice to him and was not looking for any type of relationship. All we have in this case is circumstantial evidence that potentially could send Mr. Joe to jail for a long time; however there is a lot that needs to take in consideration. The police needs to secure the premises and obtain finger prints. They need to collect all the sheets from the bed and all Mrs. Davenport clothes to ensure if there is any evidence that will prove in court that Mr. Joe try to assault Mrs. Davenport sexually, if that information is correct, his
After moving to Eatonville and marrying Joe, Janie discovers that people are not always who they seem to be. While Joe at first seemed to be easy-going and friendly, she wa...
She hoped for a better life in this city. The people of the city grew to like them quickly because of Janie’s beauty and the fact that Joe had great leadership skills. They ended up building a store that became the town hangout. Because of their popularity in the city, Joe ends up becoming the mayor of Eatonville. Eventually, Janie starts to feel the effects of being the mayor 's wife and the negatives began to outweigh the positives.”Janie soon began to feel the impacts of awe and envy against her sensibilities. The wife of the Mayor was not just another woman as she had supposed”(Hurston 46). She started to notice that all the townspeople were under the spell of Joe and everyone was afraid to challenge him. Joe and Janie started to clash because of his views on a woman 's place, especially Janie. He keeps her locked up in their shop and doesn’t let her associate with the townspeople.Janie decided to jump in a conversation being held there with Joe and he told her “You gettin’ to moufy, Janie”(Hurston 75). Joe also grows jealous of other men in the shop being around joe so he makes her tie her hair up. As years grow by, their relationship gets worse and Joe hits Janie. He hit her because she didn 't make his dinner right. This makes Janie realize that the love between them is no longer there and that she is too young to give up on love. “Things packed up and put away in parts of her heart
The next man Janie has to lean on is Joe Starks. He was a kind of salvation for Janie. He was a well-dressed black man who had worked for “white folks” all his life and had earned enough to travel to a place where black people ran the town. Janie met Joe while she was still married to Logan. She wanted to leave Logan, but I do not think she would have if Joe had not come along. Joe convinced her that He would be better for her to depend on by telling her, “Janie, if you think Ah aims to tole you off and make a dog outa you, youse wrong. Ah wants to make a wife outa you.”(p.28) Janie took this invitation as a way to leave Logan without losing the dependency she needed.
The next man that Janie confides in is Joe Starks. Joe in a sense is Janie's savior in her relationship with Logan Killicks. Joe was a well kept man who worked for "white-folks" all his life and had earned enough money to move himself to a town called Eatonville that was run completely by black people. Janie meets Joe while she is still married to Logan and she begins to lean on him ever so slightly. She has wanted to leave Logan, and she wouldn't have if Joe had not come along. Joe convinced Janie that he would be better off for her by telling her, "Janie, if you think Ah aims to tole you off and make a dog outa you, youse wrong.

The conflict between Joe and Hannah initially arises when Joe tells is mom for the first time that he is gay. Joe's mother is Mormon and Joe himself is born and raised Mormon. The religious prohibits homosexuality and this, Hannah is in shock when Joe tells her what is going on. It is even more shocking due to the fact that Joe is presumably happily married to Harper, also a Mormon. During This discussion with his mother, Joe tries to point the finger at his father who Joe claims didn't love him enough and might have "caused" his homosexuality. Hannah can not seem to deal with the situation and delves into extreme denial. She hangs up the phone thinking the conversation came from Joe just being drunk.

Facts: Norman Bates is getting treated for depression and occasional psychotic episodes by Dr. Joe. Norman Bates has a roommate named Marshal Mathers, who has a sister named Cindy who regularly comes over to the apartment. Norman Bates revel to Dr. Joe that God told him to kill Cindy. Dr. Joe calls police for Cindy safety. The police meet Norman who appeared to be rational, and no action was taking. Dr. Joe and Norman Bates session were no discontinued. Dr. Joe did nothing more about the dream Norman had. Cindy dies month later by Norman who told the police that god told him. Cindy’s parents filed an action against Dr. Joe based on negligence.
Before Clarence’s release, he had pushed for a new test as stated before, but the courts had denied, him and said it wouldn’t be possible, he later learned, that his tests had been destroyed (Helena Oliviero), months after being denied, though he did find one test sample accidentally kept (David Simpson). Also in his case, many eye witnesses, simply accused him, because he lived in the area of the crime (David Simpson), and he was found in a photograph, with the woman. In McCollum, and Brown’s case, they were said to have confessed, to the crime, yet it was never taped, nor proven, yet used against them anyways. In their case, they were both super young, at the age of 15, and 19, and had no physical evidence connecting them to the crime (Michael Biesecker), yet still prosecuted for it, without reasonable
Janie puts up with this treatment for quite a while before she ends up standing up for herself and speaking out against Joe and his flaws. This ends unfavorably for Janie and she even says to herself, “Why must Joe be so mad with her for making him look small when he did it to her all the time? Had been doing it for years. . . . Jody might get over his mad spell any time at all and begin to act like somebody towards her” (Hurston 81). She recognizes the double standard between her and Joe, yet she still has to try to ignore his reaction because he might treat her like his wife again and she can’t treat him that way again. It is entirely crazy to think he is allowed to make her feel inferior all the time and she cannot even do it once without major backlash. This is the important turning point in their marriage where Janie realizes how truly unhappy and restricted she is. When Joe gets sick he blames it on Janie and won’t be associated with her in anyway, this is a major jab at Janie that makes her solidify her hatred for Joe. After his death Janie feels a great relief and freedom in life and realizes that Joe was nowhere near her pear tree love ideal. At this point Janie seems to be free, but that quickly changes when Tea Cake comes into
