There have been many talks about the family and the Jets organization where I am surprised at some of the comments that were made; I guess that is fine with me however I have restrained the family from responding these conjectures. This response is not meant to defend ourselves but simple to express my thoughts.
It’s a great county that we live in, which still allows everyone to have personal expression. With such freedom comes responsibility, of truth, compassion and growth. The law does not restrict us from expressing ourselves no matter if you are a parole, a saint, college drop-outs or PhD or even if your purpose is solely to discourage and not encourage someone else.
I am proud of my family, they have done their best to give the community with the best team that they could put together. It was also our hopes that those among us understood our purpose (omit) to give second chances to athletes, to showcase their talents, give another mean for them to reach out for their own success.
We’ve made no claims to be rich men having all the answers; simply we use on a budget as ...
In conclusion, it is unlawful for governor McCrory to discriminate transgender people and use his power to deny them their rights. He talks about privacy rights for people but forgot that LGBT people should have their rights and freedom as well. Transgender people have the right to decide their gender and under the Fourteenth Amendment no one has the right to discriminate them.
The debate is divided into two sides. Those opposed to the use of Redskins and all Native American names in sports, and perceive the use of such terms and imagery as racist and derogatory towards Native Americans and those for keeping the name who cite the history of the team, its links to Native American players and coaches who were part of the team when it was create...
Throughout the years I have been cheering, all of my family and friends have supported me. Cheering may not be the most traditional sport that my parents may have wanted me to be a part of, but it is the sport that has brought many good memories to me. Making new friends that have he...
The Millionaire Next Door written by William Danko and Thomas J. Stanley illustrates the misconception of high luxury spenders in wealthy neighborhoods are considered wealthy. This clarifies that American’s who drive expensive cars, and live in lavish homes are not millionaires and financially independent. The authors show the typical millionaire are one that is frugal, and disciplined. Their cars are used, and their suits were purchased at a discount. As we read the book from cover to cover are misconceptions start to fade. The typical millionaire is very frugal in all endeavors and finds the best discounts possible. A budget is implemented daily, monthly, and annually for a typical millionaire. They live by the budget and are goal oriented. Living well below their means is crucial for a millionaire, and discovering ways to allocate time and money more efficiently. The typical millionaire next door is different than the majority of America presumes. Let’s first off mention what it is not. The typical millionaire is surprisingly not the individual with the lavish house worth a million dollars, owning multiple expensive cars, a boat, expensive clothes, and ultimately living lavishly. The individual is frugal and often looks for discounts for consumable goods. The book illustrates the typical millionaire in one simple word: frugal. It is shocking to believe that this is true, but it does make sense. To achieve financial independence is inherently more satisfying and important than accumulating wealth. According to the book the majority of these millionaires portray characteristics of being sacrificial, disciplined, persistent and frugal. In the book it states, “Being frugal is the cornerstone of wealth-building. Yet far too often th...
The team was ready, we had been working extremely hard for the past seven months for this. We were all in great shape and very rested. A few of the returning players were meeting me at my house to carpool to the final game of the state championship tournament. Everyone knew that the hard work had paid off when we won the semi-final game the preceding day.
Each game, my passion grew. Each team, new memories and lifelong friends were made. Sports sometimes make me feel disappointment and at loss; but it taught me to be resilient to a lot of things, like how to thrive under pressure and come out on top. Being the team captain of my high school’s football and lacrosse team showed me how having a big responsibility to bring a group together to work as one is compared to many situations in life. Currently playing varsity football, varsity lacrosse, and track I take great pride in the activities I do. Staying on top of my academics, being duel enrolled at Indian River State College, working three nights a week, and two different sport practices after school each day shaped my character to having a hard work
...ble family who has been willing to do and sacrifice anything for my siblings and myself. Due to five unselfish acts, my brothers and sister were given the most incredible opportunities of our lives.
I was a part of something my senior year that not many High School students will ever experience. It is one of those things that I will tell my grand kids about in years to come. The 2002 Fort Defiance Wrestling Team had a winning season with a perfect record. Our accomplishments as a team and as individuals will be in the records books at Fort Defiance High School, Virginia. Students athletes who play sports in school have dreams for their and themselves. One of these dreams is being exceptional enough to make it to the trophy case. We made it! The hard work, long practices, and discipline within the sport and us paid off. We were the first wrestling at Fort Defiance to have a perfect season.
Within the recent years, the transgender movement has become more apparent than ever. With television shows like “RuPaul’s Drag Race”, “Keeping It Up With Cait” and “I Am Jazz”, the voices of transgender people are more public than ever. Celebrities like Caitlyn Jenner and Laverene Cox are changing the face of the movement by showing people that it is never too late to be their true selves. American laws acknowledge the rights of transgender people, but not in a positive way. These are just people trying to be their best selves.
joy of being a part of an incredible sports, tournament, and team. They didn't enable anyone to
There’s a lot of reasons in my life to be thankful for. One of the main things I’m blessed about is being an athlete. Without sports I wouldn't know what to do with my life. I’m so thankful for being blessed with no serious injuries that I’ve had to stop for. Because I play multiple sports my chances of getting hurt are more likely to happen. Of course I have minor injuries, but I’m lucky enough to not have menacing ones. Another thing to be appreciative of is the coaches I’ve had and the teammates. They have turned into family and I wouldn't want anyone else by my side. I'm also thankful for getting to state in two sports. Some people don't even get to go to state for one sport. State is a breathtaking experience and I can't wait to see what
“My son’s going to bring the team to the state championships this year”, insisted Thomas’ mother, Marla Erikson openly committing the act of pride. “ He has made well over half of
...d these words stayed in our heads the hole game. We won with a shocking beat of 5-0 the most we every scored all season, but besides the fact we won my dad gave all the credit to the coach of our team. This really taught me that no matter all you have done never take all the credit for yourself.
All the cheer teams sit on the mat listening to teams get awards such as the spirit award, and an award called the colby sousa award. Once they announced the placements in the small division our squad bows our heads, hold hands, hoping for first place. We get to hear the team announced in second place, our grips get tighter, and our hearts race faster. They anounce our team as the champion of the small division, and the entire gym cheers so loud for us, we knew we deserved it. This was the day that my cheer team proved every team in the ECC wrong, we showed them what skills we have and what we can set our minds to in order to achieve the goals we’ve worked day and night
...in a lot of computer gaming events which were L.A.N. based & have achieved victory in college events. Involvement in sports has also meant that competitiveness and team-skills have become a part of my lifestyle, but I simply believe that I have a lot of patience and the willingness to learn and accept every challenge that comes my way.
