Through the fourteen years of my life, there have been many important events that have transpired. I have been to Disney World, the beach, Louisiana, and much more. All of these things have been amazing; however, three of the most important events are when I moved to Virginia, went to church camp, and went to the championship in volleyball. To begin, moving to Virginia impacted my life in so many ways. The reason I moved is because my mom got remarried. I am so thankful that she did. It gave me the opportunity to go to this amazing school. I’ve made so many friends that I wouldn’t trade for the world. I also started going to this undescribable church and I have been truly blessed by this church and my church family. In addition, I’ve had
Many folks go their whole lives without having to move. For them it is easy; they know the same people, have loads of friends, and never have to move away from their families. As with me, I was in a different situation. I grew up my entire life, all eighteen years of it, in a small town called Yorktown, Virginia. In my attempt to reach out for a better life style, my girlfriend and I decided we were going to move to Shreveport, Louisiana. Through this course of action, I realized that not two places in this country are exactly alike. I struggled with things at first, but I found some comforts of home here as well.
Now that I live in Long Island I look at everything different and I see how much I changed as a person. Living in Long Island and living in Brooklyn is so much different because of the different atmosphere the different people and the things I did before vs the things I do now. Honestly I think living in Long Island changed me because when I moved here I started experiencing things and trying new things. Before I came to Long Island I was this shy innocent girl who was scared to make new friends but that all changed once I entered elementary school. When I entered elementary school I was eleven years old.
When I was 7 years, I moved from my home in Australia to the other side of the planet to Dallas Texas. When I heard that I was moving, I felt a wave of despair wipe over me. As Taylor says “I have never in my own memory been outside of Kentucky” (Kingsolver 12). This was the same for me since I had never been
The important event that transformed my life is coming to the United States of America to get education and to study. When I first arrived in this country, I comprehended that an incredible change would happen in my life, both mentally and physically. After living more than one year in the United States, I definitely believe that moving to the United States is an advantageous change for me. This change offers me an opportunity to live a healthy lifestyle as well as a new way of thinking that is significant to me and the most importantly it provides me with a better education in a simple way.
...d to United States, I was grateful that I made the decision to move. When my family visited, I was able to cherish every moment with them because I knew how difficult life without them. I was grateful to have my family. Their endless support and advice, helped me to improved myself. Lived independently in United states, I grew as a better person, I learned how to planned a better time management and to be responsible on my priority.
Life sets out many pathways to decide your future. It can give you experiences and certain experiences in your life can impact you a lot. Today I’m going to talk about how moving to America has impacted me is that the fact that the American culture has changed me completely. One obvious reason American culture has changed me is the fact that I am speaking English right now. Learning English took me awhile even tho I’m still not fluent in it.
... and I started to realize some of the good effects that moving has had. I now understand that this experience has changed me in positive ways as well. Soon I would have friends in different places in the world that I can visit. I would have many places where I could go and feel like home. Most importantly, I would learn that one can adapt to every town and its people and that friends can be made everywhere. Every place has its conveniences and its problems. Every town has its generous and heartless citizens.
Moving from Michigan to Florida has been a true eye opener on various levels and has allowed me the opportunity to grow culturally. I have learned so much from various individuals and experiences in just a short three-year period. Before
Everyone has a special event that determines our life journey. This event can give us identity, happiness or even pain and sadness. The special event that changed my life was deciding to play basketball because basketball helped me find peace, happiness and gave me identity. When I was ten years old my grandfather succumbed to cancer. His death created hatred inside of me.
I was initially born in Nevada but moved to California soon after. In California I learned many things. A couple of years later, I moved to Virginia. It was a complete change of environment and people. Again, a couple of years later I move back to California, then eventually back to Las Vegas. Being in different places, felt like a change of worlds. I had to learn new things and adapt, just as Frederick Douglass did in Learning to Read and Write. He faced many struggles in learning these new skills but he persisted and eventually was able to do it. “I continued to do this until I could write a hand very similar to that of Master Thomas (Douglass).” This again showed how even though he faced these challenges, he continued on and learn those skills. That is what I had to do with going to each new state. I had to learn to adapt to the change and it has shaped me today to be able to adapt and fit into any new
I was born in a small town in Iowa. When I was 25 I got drafted in the first round pick for the golden state warriors. The event that really changed in my life was when I was on the warriors in my first game for them. I was involved because my whole life I have been playing basketball and basketball has always been my favorite sport. Everything turned out to be really good because I was so good I was the starting point guard for the warriors. After I played point guard for 15 years for the warriors then I retired and then became the warriors coach for 20 years and then retired from that and then I had so much money I bought a 2060 new mustang for 1 million dollars.
Another influence on my life is incidents. Moving to Tennessee was an incident that was very influential on my life. One way it was influential was losing all my old friends whom I had known my whole life. They were a big part of my life and I still regret ever losing touch with them. Moving to Tennessee was also influential because I had to make new friends, and I became less shy and more outgoing. My friends in Tennessee and my
The day I moved away, a lot of things were going through my young mind. As I took my last look at my home, I remembered all the fun times I had with my family and friends through out my life. Now I was moving 800 miles away from all of that with no insight on what lied ahead for me. As my family and I drove away from our Michigan home, I looked out the window wondering what Virginia would be, and what my friends were doing. A lot of things were going through my mind at the time. At the time my main worry was if I would make any friends, and how I would adjust to everything. During the whole drive down, my mother would often let me know that everything would be all right and I would like it. Trying to be strong and hold back my tears, I just shook my head no, wondering why we had to move so far away. Life would be different for me and I knew it would.
An Event which changed my life, well when, I think back on my life there’s
Many years ago when I was a freshman in high school, an event happened to me that changed my life for the better. My friend invited me to go hiking with him and his sister. He was going to go hiking in Yosemite. The following day I prepared myself mentally and physically in order to accomplish this hike.
