Timothy Klocke 12/2/16 James Price Art of Film Before sunrise, Before sunset analysis These two movies can be viewed as a single movie much like The Godfather movies but watching two of them as one movie is more predominant. Watching them like this allows us to enjoy the invigorating spectacle of the two films' bold balancing act, as on the one hand there stands the optimism and hopefulness of the more conventionally romantic Before Sunrise, while on the other hand we witness the often savage skewering of same in the much bleaker and despairing sequel. In Sunrise, the couple's constant complexity of emotions resembles the chaotic places they must encounter in order to fall back together. The plot in both films revolves around a particular evil whose power eventually weakens.
