Some would argue that the lack of motivation is the root of all evil. Everyone at some point in time has had a lack of drive; it could be taking out the trash or studying for the ACT test. Without a goal in mind motivation can be hard to find. Some artists have written works that give a sense of motivation just by reading or listening to them. These songs and poems use uplifting and positive phrases to create an inspiring composition. Some of these works that express motivation are “Hall of Fame” by The Script, “We Are the Champions” by Queen and “You Can Be Whatever You Want to Be” by Donna Levine. In the song, “Hall of Fame”, The Script uses repetition and positive reinforcement to give the listener the feeling that they can conquer anything they put their mind to. They wrote, “You could be the greatest, you can be the best, you can be the King Kong banging on your chest…You could be the hero, you could get the gold” (The Script). By repetitively telling the listener that they can do it, gives a feeling of encouragement that any goal is reachable. …show more content…

In the beginning of the song, the singer uses an example of an obstacle. He wrote, “I’ve had my share of sand kicked in my face, but I’ve come through”. As the song continues he lets the listener know that giving up is not an option, when he sings “…and we’ll keep on fighting ‘til the end”. (Queen). They tell of facing obstacles and never giving up.
