Creation Myth Motifs!
In my essay I will be telling you how there are so many motifs in the creation myths from all around the world. You would not even believe how so many creation myths are so much alike, even when they stories are coming from halfway around the world. I would understand if they were nearby, but some of these appearcame from Egypt all the way to South America. There are three main motifs, the idea of the gods breathing life into humans to make them come to life, the idea of the creators deciding they were unhappy with the creations so they destroyed humanity, and finallylastly the idea of there being a bloody struggle.
Breathing Life into human
Many creation myths had this motif because some humans may look at babies being first born take their first breath. This would be the God breathing in the child to bring them to life. Most humans look at it this way so that way they can always feel like the …show more content…

I think that the reason there was a bloody struggle is because maybe some of the other humans go into a fight and it ended badly. The only thing is I really don’t know why it would have gotten all around the world. In the Norse creation, Odin started a bloody war with Ymir because Odin thought that Ymir was a cruel and brutal man. Next Lastly there was the Babylonian creation when Tiamat and her husband had children, their children had children and they were horrible kids. One day one of the children Ea, decided to kill Tiamat's husband when he did Tiamat was so mad. She began a war with Ea. Ea and his siblings formed Marduke to protect them from Tiamat. Marduke brutally killed Tiamat and used her body to from the earth.
I have not even an idea on how some of these motifs got all around the world, they have some of the same stories and it amazes me. I’m sure no one will ever know how to explain their similarities. How do you think many of the creations have these
