Mother Maria Traits

ln Lities of the FieldbyWlliam E. Banett, Homerand Mother Maria both display three
character traits.
One of the character traits that Mother Maria and Homer have is that they are both open
minded- For example, when Mother Maria wants Homer to build the chureh, she doesn't hesitate
to say anything to him about the prolect. Another example is that Homer tells Mother Maria
about the payrnent and he starts to algue with her. The reason why Homer was arguing with her
was because Mother Maria would not pay him for the work that he was doing for them. The
second tnait that they have is that they are both hard working. One exarnple,of this trait is that
Homer buitt the churcfr all by himself. Another example is that Mother Maria works hard to try to

keep the farm in place and tries to keep oder in the nuns that are working there. The last of the
charactertraits is religious. They both display religiousness throughout the story. For example,
Mother Maria and the other nuns walked to church for two mils before Homer stopped by the
farm. An exampb of Homer hing Religious is when he helps the nuns Suild the church.
Throughout the book ol Uies of the Frel4 Mother Maria and Homer share many traits
but I think these three traits pulls thern out the most.
