We need to pack up your room because you’re moving to another part of the hospital. Morris when you first came into the hospital I saw patients with your situation remain comatose, but you beat the odds and got better. Florence is in her headquarters at the hospital, she works at. She is writing a letter to a patient's mother. When all of a sudden, Mary, a fellow nurse, walks in. Mary and Florence talk about how nice it is to work with each other and how happy Mary is here. Mary quotes, “ I’m glad I’m here with you Miss Nightengale. Good Night.” at the end of their discussion. Also, they talk about how both of their families don’t really want them there. They talk for a little and Florence seems very at home and happy. Later, after Mary had left, two gentlemen come to talk to Florence. It is Dr. Goodale and Dr. Hall that have come to speak with her. After talking for a while they both leave and let Florence to her work. In the hospital, Florence seemed like an entire new person, she was much more

While in Room, the only person that Jack ever interacted with was Ma, he is accus-tomed to her focusing entirely on him and listening to everything he says. However, outside she is preoccupied with multiple things to do and people to see, causing her to ignore Jack. When-ever Ma is interacting with police or doctors and Jack interrupts to talk to her or ask for “some” (breast milk), she will change the subject or say “later Jack” (180). All of this causes Jack and Ma’s relationship to weaken, which results in them not having each other to rely on during times when they need each other the most. When Ma overdoses on pills in a suicide attempt it is when she sends Jack to be with her brother so she can be alone in a catatonic state. It is not until after her recovery, when she is reunited with Jack and they begin living more similarly to how they lived in Room, that their bond restrengthens and they are secure again, in their new home. An-other negative relationship that affects Ma is that with her parents, and her father specifically. When Ma reunites with her father after seven years, he is extremely uncomfortable by Jack, and makes his distain known to Ma. He says that he did not want to meet him (225), and that Ma would be better off without him, as in better off if he was
During workdays, physical therapists meet with their patients and discuss their goals. To achieve them, the physical therapists work with the patients and create plans that map out routines of exercise and stretches. Every time a patient returns to the office, the physical therapists examine and observe how they are progressing and determine how to help them even more (O*NET Online). They then begin to modify the old plans and find better ways for the patient to make a full recovery (O*NET Online). They also converse with the patient and their families to inform them of how to make the recovery go smoothly and quickly. The outcome of this treatment is that people who were injured or ill would recuperate and uphold a healthy life. Physical therapists use their knowledge of human biology to know how to challenge the patients with precaution and achieve a successful recovery (America’s Top 300 Jobs: A Complete Career Handbook). The physical therapists have to work with the patient to understand each other and their ideas. Also, physical therapists tend to talk with other physicians, occupational therapists, nurses, social workers, and physical therapists to find the best path to being healthy (Ameri...
Yaffna sprints up the stairs, skipping two steps at a time. She meets Morris midway, grabbing onto his wheelchair. She pulls him up the remaining steps. Sandy is shaken up.
Physical therapists are “highly-educated,licensed health care professionals ” (“APTA”). Even though physical therapy is a highly visible career, most people do not know what a physical therapist ,or pt for short, is or what they do . A pt does many things like helping “patients reduce pain, improve or restore mobility and even reducing the need for long-term prescriptions and their side effects”(“APTA”). They do this by setting up goals or care plans made of focused exercise for each individual. The exercises or games help with restoring range of movement, building strength and improving
Prepare for upcoming therapy sessions by organizing the treatment locations based on the patient’s needs. These patients have so many different needs that each one must have there own individual time treatments, exercises, and this list just goes on and on. These people have to clean each individual rooms after therapy. They watch the patient’s development during therapy sessions and make notes on how the patient is responding. Therapists and physical therapy assistants use these notes and reports to evaluate the usefulness and helpfulness of specific treatments for patients. This helps the therapists to determine if the treatment is working or if it's not working. If the treatment is unsuccessful they evaluate the patients and test them again because the body is so complex no one can definitely tell what is exactly wrong with them. Help patients move from one area of therapy to another – aides should have physical strength because they may have to move several immobile patients each day. Aides are there to help patients walk, push them in wheelchairs, or assist in sitting and standing. They are even sometimes responsible for helping to pick them up and move them to another location. Without these aides, the therapist job would become increasingly harder and more difficult. The therapist must have the following skills to become successful: Compassion, Attention to Detail, Dexterity, People

Physical therapy is a type of treatment that individuals might need when health problems make it difficult to move around and do daily needs.
Therefore, she may find it harder than most of the population to transition into the role of the patient and rely on others to make clinical judgements to promote and protect her recovery. Moreover, she was in a lot of physical pain, with her right leg in a full cast, causing her to be at bed rest. This I believe, as well as the patient being more aware of the inner workings of the hospital compared to other patients without a medical background, may of contributed to her ill ease and need to feel in control of her nursing care, over that of her care plan set by the
