While I already have a Master’s degree in Computer Science, I have now spent the past two years working in Information Technology field only to realize that there is much more to learn, my colleagues and employers confirm this. I started as a IT consultant in Lakeland Electrical/City of Lakeland Technologies, a public sector company. I helped them to run financial software and upgrading the projects from Excel to reporting templates and working with the users to resolve their issues and project enhancements. From there I went to Monsanto and I started in IT infrastructure support for financial systems and created automation and batch process for data loading into financial systems. During that time, I worked part-time job on campus in the library helping high school students with Information Technology and school projects. During summer break I would teach classes to high school students in mathematics, physics, and computer science. I would also help my father with his business. During my Master’s program I was helping arrange online classes by connecting network and setting up remote locations online classes. I come from a family of four people. My father is in business and my mother is a homemaker, both of them graduated high school but neither one of them went to college. My brother graduated from college and is working in business as well. He has helped my father with his business and he has started his own business. My father’s family originated from business-oriented culture, nobody completed graduation. My father has four brothers and none of them graduated from high school. They are all still living in the same village and following the same things. My mother’s family originated from a remote location. A person's family heritage, how their parents met and married, their parents’ occupations, their siblings, and their early lives play an important role in who they are and who they become. I want to go to college for the wholesome intellectual stimulation and to get more involved with my community. College will be my last opportunity to do so before I enter the work force.
