It could be argued that all types of bullying are the same. What we don 't know is that bullying affects people differently. People who are at risk of being bullied are teens. Teens are the only ones who are updated with today’s modern technology, which means they are surrounded by the negative aspects of it. The main focus is cyberbullying and the toll it has on America’s teens. Cyberbullying is a form of bullying using technology rather than a face to face interaction. Today’s main question is “What can we do? Are there ways to prevent cyberbullying and is there a punishment?” Well, the sole benefactor of cyberbullying is technology and social media. With it being open to the public and all the abundant, dark secrets hidden, still lies within the barriers of the internet. Lawmakers, parents, and teachers have been blinded for several years, but once they have experienced the aspects of cyberbullying, the actions they take are shocking. There has always been an increase of cyberbullying in schools, especially when schools are being updated on their technology and providing each student with their own laptop. Naturally teachers or parents don 't hear about more than half the situations of teens being bullied. More than likely teens don 't report it due to the fact that they don 't want to be center of attention or being called names for “snitching or ratting the bully out.” This gives them no voice to stand up for themselves and no action is taken by anyone to help improve this situation. For the teens who don 't have a voice and have no other options they began to have depressed thoughts. Over the past several years cyberbullying has been linked to teens committing suicide. It may seem like the only option for teens to do, but in the end a loved one is lost and their voice finally comes out and speaks of what could never be spoken
