A Look at Modern Defense Technologies and their Impact on Society
As a veteran of the Air Force I’ve had a chance to both witness and work with some of these technologies that I will be discussing throughout this paper. I had a chance to be trained for using a CMOS based program for planning loads on aircraft. The program was very user friendly and fast. This program handled the mathematical part of loading planes such as weight, size, and balance capacities. It also served as logistical database for tracking what cargo increments would be deployed, where they needed to go, when they could be expected to leave, and the estimated time of arrival at the destination. I was also trained on how to plan loads on paper with both graphical and mathematical problem solving in the event of computer failure. Let me tell you, this was a chore and if it wasn’t right the first time I simply had to start from scratch again with the equations. The luxury of the computer was that I could make changes and receive real time reflective information while I made the changes. My skills with this program were called upon during operation DESERT THUNDER. We were able to plan and mobilize over half of the 2nd largest Air Force base in the Unites States in only two days. This helped deter a war with Iraq by proving just how fast we were able to move on any threats that they had against the U.S. This is an example of how technology helped to deter a threat by simply “flexing our muscle”, a term the D.O.D uses to describe deterrence through readiness and firepower. ...ys some bad that comes with the good. Technology is what also started the nuclear arms race, which has spread worldwide. Hostile counties and terrorists have and always will stop at nothing to get their hands on nuclear technology. Now it’s a constant game of cat and mouse to keep dangerous countries from achieving nuclear capability, which could easily start another world war. Although wars are nothing new to the world, we have found another way to fight them. Hopefully someday with the combined efforts of friendly allied nations the world can rest at peace. Whether someone thinks technological defense has had a negative or positive impact on society, the fact is that it is here and it just needs to be controlled. I wonder how the inventor of nuclear weapons would feel now if he could see what has become of the world. Let’s just pray we never have to see them used.

Since its declaration of independence from Great Britain, the United States has experienced wars of many different sorts. Each war introduced a new kind of warfare. The Revolutionary War introduced for the first time in American history, the idea of naval warfare. Ships were armed with dozens guns and carried several dozens of men. The musket, armed with its bayonet as well as the cannon proved to be worthy weaponry advancements in the infantry together with various pistols. The Civil War introduced the revolving pistol as well as the Gatling gun which enabled soldiers to produce rapid fire and destroy enemies in large quantities with a single round. New technological advancements in transportation such as the railroad, enabled large quantities of troops to travel to a given area in nearly half the amount of time. However, the turn of the twentieth introduced new technological advancements in the country as well as the military. This ignited a century of technological advancements in the military that has enabled the United States to excel in militaristic domination.
Doctor Morgan of Sussex, England, published the first case of what is now known as dyslexia in 1896. Dr. Morgan wrote about Percy F, a 14-year-old boy who was intelligent, bright, quick with learning games, and the intellectual equal of his peers. He fell behind, however, in his inability to learn how to read. Many of us can identify with struggling at least once during our school years. Imagine struggling every day and in every class just cause your learning strategy is not the same as everyone else. Small arms having a strong impact on the world, controlIng present and future power, economy, security and many other factors over the economic development globally. Technology is advancing every day, people are living longer, lives are being made easier, and security is getting tighter. That being said, most technology in the world helps the greater good, and the common man’s job is made less labor intensive. Also on the other side of the card, others could say violence is being made more frequent with technology; people are dying by new technology, such as firearms, auto mobiles, automated machinery, etc. Small arms would be that advance that would be a strong factor in both polarities of positive and negative.
Dyslexia is a language based learning disorder that is grounded in the neurobiology of the brain. The disorder interferes with the processing and comprehension of both spoken and written language. Often there are other associated symptoms such as poor spelling, writing, handwriting and occasionally arithmetic (1). People do not read or write backwards as is depicted by the media. There are a few components that go along with technology. There are a lot of pros to technology, but what else is it good for? Many people think that technology is bad, but at this time of life, the good always outweighs the bad.
If I had to choose which technological invention is the worst, I’d have to choose gun. Gun has done more harm than good by a big margin; History will show the devastation this technological invention has done. Millions of life lost by just pulling a tiny trigger, Guns attracted violence, how easy to point and pull a trigger. Guns made killing easy, it change the way wars were fought and even led to more powerful gun. Some may argue that it’s not the gun but the user, but if guns were never invented we wouldn’t have that argument, Its plain and simple as day, this invention did not benefit our society, It just made wars and violence worse and deadlier, Guns requires less skill than swords and bows, so the use of guns became more popular, which led to world wars. And the end results are bloodsheds and millions of people dead.

Once a child becomes school aged and begins to learn how to read, learning disabilities may become apparent. An example of a developmental learning difficulty that affects 5-17% of school-aged children is called dyslexia (Jordan & Dyer, 2017, p. 161). The goal of this paper is to determine how dyslexia is defined, caused, and diagnosed. The paper will also explore implications of dyslexia on a child and how to help a child overcome their disability.
Technology! Yes, it has its positives, but like all other things is also has its negatives. Would we really need hover cars? They would still congest ?air space?. What would be the benefits of splitting the atom more that once (What was the point of splitting it anyway)? Or will ?Little Boy? the World War Two atomic bomb containing Uranium be resurrected from the Japanese city of Hiroshima and be upgraded to wipe out the brain stems of individuals whose unique brain patterns have been programmed into the device? For years technology has been cultivated. Powerful and ingenious it maybe, but in our hands this technology has been used for demoralizing war! If we carry on using these technological advancements for the use of hostilities on Earth (or maybe in space) then both parties will use their own weapons and both will be crushed, ground into tiny pieces and blasted into oblivion. Technology can be conveyed as a necessary evil in our life today. It’s considered necessary because it can save lives, and make them easier. Yet it’s considered evil because it can destroy lives on a physical and mental aspect. The true question is does the good outway the bad? ‘Technology is a word used to collectively describe or portray the advancements, abilities, creations, undertaking, views, and knowledge of the human-kind”(https://www.academia.edu/346486/Technological_Advancements_and_Its_Impact_on_Humanity). Therefore it basically means that it progresses the human race. It connects us, conserves energy and produces goods, and it saves lives. How could it not be a good thing?
