The world of Model Train Building has grown greatly with the aid of computers and technology to enhance the fun of building. Technology has long been a part of Model Train building with the adding of lights, bells, and whistles to capture your interest and imagination. But with the latest generation of building comes the influx of technology and the computer. The computer brings along a new breed of builders who plan track layout, buy parts on the Internet, receive updated news, and chat with other enthusiast.
The most notable difference that computers have brought to the world of Model Train building is in software programming. Now on the market there are numerous different packages of software that enable hobbyist in the “challenge” of real yard operations on a smaller scale. These programs allow the person to move loads between depots and keep track of your revenues. They allow simulations of operational switches between tracks, multiple train operation, coupling/uncoupling of railcars. But the greatest benefit that they bring is allowing the person to design a layout using an electronic template and ensuring that all measurements in the layout will work before a single piece of track is laid. Many of these software programs even play off on the hype of using a computer for design in their name, with names of CyberTrack, The Right Track Software, and Design Your Own Railroad, who could not want to become involved in there use.
This software ties into many other aspects of building that encourage the use of the Internet in this hobby. Many of these programs allow the hobbyist a “realistic railyard” action complete with sights, sounds and even planned crashes. With the event of a crash you are always going to need replacement parts for repair or maybe you just want to upgrade or expand you track system. This brings in the convenience of the use of the Internet in product ordering. With few stores in scattered areas it may be difficult or expensive for some hobbyist to get to these locations for the parts that they need. The Internet brings this store right into their home with online catalogs and parts stores. One mainstream over the counter catalog, The Atlas Catalog, provides an electronic version, The Atlas Online Catalog, for internet users to order parts on a secure online catalog.
Even more important for some people are the Online Magazines that provide up to the minute news breaking information.
For many people, hunting is just a sport, but for some it is a way of life. In Rick Bass’s “Why I Hunt” he explains how he got to where he lives now and what he thinks of the sport of hunting. There are many things in the essay that I could not agree more with, and others that I strongly disagree. Overall this essay provides a clear depiction of what goes through the mind of a hunter in the battle of wits between them and the animal.
You have probably seen the debate across the news covering the controversial protest of kneeling during the National Anthem. This protest has stirred up conversation throughout the nation. Was kneeling during the anthem an appropriate way to protest? Supporters think that the celebrities are smart by using their fame to bring attention to America’s problems, but others think that football games are not the appropriate place to focus on politics.
& Willis, E. M. explains the middle-range theories were first introduced in sociology in 1960’s then were offered in nursing in 1974 focusing on emerging disciplines because they were available to introduce through research in compare to grand theories. Middle-range nursing theory was established fifteen years later, and is reinforced by repeated criticism of the summary of grand theories and their difficulties in use to research and practice. The reason of middle-range theory is to define, clarify, and predict occurrences that easer to apply in practical situations, and potentially to direct nursing interventions, change circumstances of situations to improve the care and potentially best outcome. Focus on middle-range theory is supported by theoretical framework for research studies, tested by research and use in practice, and scientific end product expressing nursing knowledge. (McEwen, M. & Willis, E. M.,
First, hunting can be a source of relaxation. Sitting in the woods with nobody else around, far from the routine life, can be very therapeutic. One’s life is hectic with all the demands of everyday living. Running away from them, and having a time for oneself can be very healthy.” Even If you don’t makea kill , you will benefit from the peace and quiet sounds of nature“(National Geographic News ,March,2007). Moreover, hunting is a good method to rid oneself of pent up anger. Emotions may build up, and anger might fill the mind; hun...
Hunters often reveal that being in nature provides time to clear the mind. In the woods, there is no rush, no schedule, and no deadlines; nature moves at its own pace. This interaction provides a deep spiritual connection with the land, the wildlife, and our planet. Hunting has been around since the beginning of time and has been in many people 's lives for generations, these are some reasons why people all across America continue to hunt. Hunting has many benefits such as reducing deer related car accidents, controlling deer densities in heavily human populated areas, creates jobs, and feeding and supporting families. Thus, deer hunting is necessary for several reasons.

Recently, there has been a debate over NFL athletes refusing to stand for the national anthem as an appropriate form of protest. Although many celebrity athletes are using this protest as a way for publicly expressing the issues of police brutality and racial inequality, kneeling when our national anthem is being played is not an appropriate form of protest. First, refusing to stand for the national anthem shows disrespect for the flag and members of the armed forces ("Refusing to Stand for the National Anthem: Top 3 Pros and Cons"). If it weren’t for our military, navy, air force, police, etc. then an athlete may not have the ability to play a sport professionally. The national anthem plays respect to those veterans and current officers who
Imagine you are sitting on a park bench and two different people pass you- one is an overweight young man who is smoking a cigarette and the other is a slim woman of about the same age who is jogging. Who is healthier, the man or the woman? Now imagine you actually know the woman and know that she has cystic fibrosis. Who is healthier, the man or the woman? Now imagine you know the man as well, and know that he has severe depression. Who is healthier, the man or the woman? ‘Health’ can be seen as a very vague term. Many people have different understandings of it and what it means to be ‘healthy’. This paper will examine the different ways that health can be defined and it will justify the approach which
According to nursingjounrnal (2005) Middle range theories are applicable to each aspect of the nurse profession from administration, education, and direct patient care. Since middle range theory lie between grand theory and specific situation theory. Most nurses believed that middle range theory intervention are more specific on solving problem and if implemented at the bedside as intended they will always bring positive outcomes to the patients . The focus on improved patient outcome and patient satisfaction will be the future development in nurse theory and middle range theories lend to this development. Evidence based practice developed through the use of research studies and theory will lead the nurse in to the future practice. According to Meleis (2012) “Middle-range theories are at those levels of conceptualization that could inform nursing practice and research, and thus continue the cycle of advancing foundational knowledge and enhancing quality care”. To understand responses to health and
Secondly, Korean has a directivity of harmony. In Korea, family is top priority, so loving family is considered very important. For instance, my father was a soldier, and we moved the house continuously because of his job’s characteristic. So, he retired from his job because he thought that moving the house continuously was not good for family and our education. My father always treats family as a top priority. Koreans also try to join other groups well and have excellent spirit of community. There are some examples. People who are involved in any club feel they belonged, and it makes people have more confidence. So they try to join groups. Another example is that Koreans who move into new house give rice-cake to the neighborhood because they have spirit of community. Due to these reasons, Koreans rely on each other sincerely.
In “In the ‘land of the free,’ are you free to sit out the national anthem?” Drew Brees, the quarterback for the New Orleans Saints, accuses Kaepernick of insulting a flag that is “Sacred” and also gives him the “freedom to speak out”(Kaleem). In other words, Kaepernick is disrespecting his rights and taking advantage of a sacred flag that represents our country, which is one of the most humiliating things done toward the country. Critics have a valid point about disrespect toward the country and the flag because we stand for the national anthem to show respect to the veterans that risked their lives for our freedom, so not standing could be dishonorable and offensive toward soldiers and veterans. Though it is true that veterans may take offense to his actions, they must understand that Kaepernick is only standing up for his beliefs that the flag does not represent what it should and the country does not represent the people the way it should, and he should not be punished or looked down upon for showing what he
From generation to generation, North Korea stands as one of the last remaining communist regimes in the world. In a country built on oppression and regulation, why is it that no one seems to rebel? The sad truth remains that loyalty and obedience to North Korea’s supreme leader is an inescapable fate. From the day they are born, idolization of “The Supreme Leader” is drilled into the minds of those unlucky enough to be born into North Korea. Some would argue that extreme control is imposed merely to preserve a way of life. The question posed, is whether North Korea has gone too far in trying to protect this way of life. Through extreme limitations on use of electronics, speech, and religion, prohibiting virtually all contact with the outside world, and extensive use of propaganda, North Korea has greatly crossed the line from protecting a country’s best interest to taking away any and all freedom from its people.
Imagine yourself at the Super Bowl, someone is going to start singing the National Anthem. You, people around you, and some football players decide not to stand up because they want to silently and peacefully protest for the people of color that have been oppressed. This is what widely known player Colin Kaepernick did on Aug. 26, 2016. When this event occurred in Aug. 26, professional athletes, high school athletes, and football players alike started to kneel or sit down during the National Anthem. When you or someone kneels or sits during the National Anthem, they are showing a silent protest. These protests sparked controversy and public message about the protesters’ messages and the way they chose to say those messages. It’s indeed acceptable for people, athletes, professional athletes, and football players alike to kneel or sit down during the National Anthem. There, people can silently and peacefully protest and/or pray for the people of color that have been oppressed. It’s also allowed according to the 1st amendment.
