My favorite character is Morrie Schwartz from “Tuesdays with Morrie”. “Tuesdays with Morrie” is a powerful book written by Mitch Albom. The book talks about the brief Tuesday interactions between the author and his college professor, Morrie Schwartz. Morrie Schwartz was a Sociology professor at Brandeis University. Albom provides a clear description of Morrie in his book. He was a fun loving individual and a teacher, until he got ALS, which is a disease involving the death of neurons. Morris was said that he is going to die soon and was given two years by the doctor. Each of Morrie’s words, actions and understanding attracted me more towards him. I believe that not many people have this ability. I read this book when I was dealing with the death of my dear grandmother in India. I was surprised to know that as a person actually existed. Morrie was dying. When other people blame and cry over their situation, Morrie though how lucky is he to get more attention of his family, friends, even when he was completely depending someone for his small needs. I think of him as a friend, who listens to everything openly. I badly want someone like that. Moved to United States recently, I am unaware of the cultures this country has. I usually get confronted easily in others argument and feels like losing my own identity. There are many times I badly felt the need of a friend, who can understand me and comfort me in my trouble. Morrie is one of those persons whom I like to keep close in my heart. He is brought up in a similar situation like mine and will understand more about my feelings and struggles. His high patience to listen and provide advice would have helped me in my struggles. Morrie, Through Mitch’s book, give me hope and courage, so I am sure that as a family member he can do
