Films Message

The message of the movie is that hard work takes time, but it pays off. This is shown through the many obstacles that Michelangelo and Pope Julius faced during the painting of the Sistine Chapel's ceiling.

Plot

The movie starts off with Pope Julius ii and his men winning a battle. When he goes through town everyone bows down to him, showing respect. He comes across Michelangelo an recognizes his sculpting skills and how his tomb still is not in the process of being made. Later on he then assigns him the task of painting the Sistine Chapel's ceiling. At first he was opposed to the idea for he was a sculptor, but soon enough agreed to it because of th rewards.

When he first started he destroyed is art on the ceiling because he didn't want to simply painting the 12 disciples, he wanted to show more. He takes it upon himself to draw up new plans and show the Pope during a dangerous battle. His idea got approved and he went forward with his painting, although he didn't see himself as a good painter. Throughout the many years that the painting took place there where many ups and downs between the Pope and Michelangelo, he even ran away at one point. Through the long days of rigorous work he constantly got ask by the Pope “when will you be done” and his response was always “When I am done”. This was a very iconic …show more content…

The editing done in the movie was for the most part decent, but there were some issues. For example, some of the sound effects such as the boulder talked about above didn’t match its landing sound. However there were some background noises that made the movie more realistic. Such as the men in battle yelling and the animal noises that Michelangelo heard when he was walking down the street. Other than the edits dealing with time there were some editing done to the locations that were not realistic. Such as the sky, also talked about above. Overall the editing wasn't the best and could have been
