While Katie Wessel and her husband, Matt, were spending a year in Munich, Germany, they fell in love with German pretzels. They visited beer gardens to have a drink and pretzel, and the culture reminded them of their home in Milwaukee. But when they moved back, they couldn't find a pretzel to satisfy their cravings. Wessel, a Bizwomen Headliner, and her husband started Milwaukee Pretzel Company five years ago to recreate the German snacks they remembered. Wessel took charge of developing the recipe, and their pretzels are now sold in breweries and restaurants throughout the area. Milwaukee Pretzels are made in a production facility in Shorewood, Wis., and shipped frozen to buyers. See Also She's the head of happiness at her catering company
Words have a way of changing the way we view the world. They can completely alter our perception of what is true and what is false. Take the tale of Skidmore and Manchester, as dictated in the story ‘The Curse of the Poisoned Pretzel.’ The way the author portrays the character of Skidmore shows just how easily words can change how we see someone by making you believe that Skidmore is guilty of his brother‘s murder, without ever formally saying so.
Billy affectionately described his homeland (the key component of “peoplehood” i.e., the Nisqually watershed on South Puget Sound of the Nisqually River, creeks (Muck Creek), rolling prairie and forestland as well as the foothills of the Cascades Mountains and Mt Rainier) as “a magical place” where his family “never wished for anything: fish from the water¬shed, vegetables up on the prairie, medicines, shellfish, and huckleberries…clean water, clean air.” He describes the arrival of L...

While much of the ad relies on the reader’s knowledge of art, the ad also relies heavily on logical claims. The first is the claim of fact: Grolsch beer has existed since 1615 and because this statement cannot ...
Lima beans and sauerkraut were especially vivid. His first taste of these foods happened close together in his life when he was between the ages of three and four. His family was living in very bad apartments at that time and the food budget was a tight one. The women in his life who cooked for him did their best to keep his, his father’s, and his sister’s stomachs all full any means necessary, while also pulling on their cultural roots. My step-father loved both the lima beans and the sauerkraut due to their inherently bitter tastes, which he has kept with him as he has grown up. Bratwursts and sauerkraut are one of his favorite dishes to this day and one he learned from watching his German grandmother in the

According to Fischer and Schwieterman (2008) the neighborhoods of Chicago are a veritable kaleidoscope of culture— colorful amalgams of languages, dialects, religions, and culinary traditions. One of those neighborhoods is Back of the Yards. This community was chosen as my project because of its rich culture and history.
In 1982, Jim Disbrow and Scott Lowery had recently moved to Columbus, Ohio after living in Buffalo, New York and found themselves craving the authentic, Buffalo, New York-style chicken wings they’d grown to love. The problem was that they were nowhere to be found in their new city of Columbus. The two friends decided to take matters into their own hands and created their own signature sauce recipe to satisfy their craving. Jim and Scott’s signature wings began drumming p great demand and the pair opened up their first restaurant, “Buffalo Wild Wings & Weck” near the campus of The Ohio State University. The restaurant was a hit with college students and since then has developed a fanatical following across the
This ad mirrors the cold landscape of Green’s Hypothermia but in the form of a research laboratory. Published in June of 2010 in The New York Times, it features Orange M&M, an anthropomorphic pretzel, and a cold, human, researcher. Orange M&M questions the researcher: “You’re putting him where?!” Below, the text reads: “A Crunchy Pretzel Inside M&Ms® Candies.” Both texts are in a rounded, fun font. Orange M&M is the first of the series to look outright fearful, and the pretzel and the researcher are the first individuals to appear both threatening and unhappy. Behind the pretzel is a blueprint showing that the pretzel will go inside of Orange M&M (Mars® B4). I will refer to this ad as “Scaredy
