Commanders may request to have an award recommendation fast tracked through the awards process. Fast tracking an award means there will either be an immediate awards board held or the award recommendation will skip the awards board and go straight to the CG for signature. For expedited award processing, the DRU commander must contact the 7th MSC ACoS, G-1 to inform them the award requires expedited processing and then contact the DCO, 7th MSC to explain why the award should receive special processing. (1) The G1 can only fast track MSMs, ARCOMs, AAMs, and COAs. The G1 cannot fast track an LM, since they are not approved by the 7th MSC. (2) The G1 Awards NCO will fast track the award once the exception to policy is approved. f. Career counselors fill extremely demanding positions requiring an unusual amount of effort to accomplish their mission. The Table of Distribution (TDA) only allows one career counselor position, in every Battalion. The amount of personnel fluctuates between 300-800 Soldiers. As identified above MOS 79S, is currently experiencing a shortage causing an additional workload within a small team of NCOs adding additional stress to an already demanding position. The unique skill set a career counselor possesses are different from any other MOS. Career counselors utilize an automated system called RETAIN. Once a career counselor successfully graduates from the basic career counselor course, they receive access to RETAIN. HQDA and HRC both monitor this system. Only those authorized personnel career counselors have access to this automated system. While a unit can assign an additional duty reenlistment, Noncommissioned officer (NCO) to fill the position they will not have access to

The circumstance of immoral orders is understandable, but a soldier should still meet his or her given instructions. The keys to a soldier's system are the policy letters and army regulations that dictate every given bit of information on the army and its moral history. Within each article and sub-article, the information is pertinent to the success of a soldier and shares the history as well. This can provide lessons to those who instruct other soldiers.
...ers Date of Rank. The user can also laterally promote someone to a different rank but within the same grade. This function also provides two different reports that are used to determine if a Soldier is eligible for promotion to the next grade by attending a promotion board.
While DFC staff insist the DFC grant application is simple, it is, in fact, a complex federal grant with very specific requirements that must be met. Coalitions must understand the two-part DFC application review process. The first review occurs when SAMHSA receives the applications, and eligibility screeners from ONDCP and SAMHSA review each application to ensure compliance with the statutory eligibility requirements outlined in the Drug Free Communities Act of 1997 and other requirements such as the application due date and format requirements such as page limitations.. Failure to meet even a single requirement may make an application ineligible and it will not proceed to Peer Review for scoring. , It is very easy to make a simple mistake and therefore be contacted for clarification, or worse, rejected altogether. Other times, Coalitions are contacted for clarification because the eligibility screeners could not find something that was clearly p...
Missed appointments are a huge issue in the Army. A missed appointment affects the readiness of both individual Soldiers and their supporting units. The first and most obvious detriment to the readiness of a Soldier with a missed appointment is the ever-present threat of UCMJ action taken under article 86, Absent Without Leave. To be charged under article 86 of the UCMJ you merely have to be not present at the given place of your appointment at the specified time. Receiving an article 15 for the above charge can have a domino effect on both the Soldier’s professional and personal life. Depending on the severity of the punishment exacted through the article 15 the Service Member runs the risk of losing time, money, and freedom. In an extreme case the loss of these things can cause a fit of depression that firstly could cause the Service Member to seek further help through behavioral health services to feel better. Secondly, if the Service Member is not resilient in the face of this adversity they may not get back on the metaphorical horse and their work suffers for this they can come under even more scrutiny. With an article 15 the lost time for work is not always noticed when it come to the multiple reading and the time it takes to prepare the paperwork. First the commander takes time out of his busy day to read the Service Member not only once but twice. Administration not only takes the time to prepare but also deliver the necessary paperwork to trial defense services. If the offense is repetitive the possibility of court martial can come into play. Now all the work that went into an article 15 grows exponentially. Not only does jag have to pull together a case to prosecute a Soldier, but also the Soldier and their attorney hav...

"The soldier is the Army. No army is better than its soldiers. The Soldier is also a citizen. In fact, the highest obligation and privilege of citizenship is that of bearing arms for one’s country” (-General George S. Patton Jr). Here within our borders we are the lucky ones, we have been blessed with the pleasure of so many brave men and women; to volunteer in the world's greatest military; and put their lives on the line for something that they believe is a moral obligation. But, think of some other countries, that have conscription (the practice of ordering people by law to serve in the armed forces) laws. We as a nation have some laws on conscription, and if you are male and above the age of 18 you have already signed the slip of paper stating that in the time of war; if our great nation re-instated the draft then there is a great chance you will be serving on the frontline of the next Great War. This brings me to my first topic of this page, is it ethical to have a draft? My second topic that I will discuss will be on if it is morally acceptable to "draft dodge". What I mean on the second topic is if you have a right; that morally allows you to not go fight in the war.

Around mid-July 2012, I received notification of my selection to attend the CGSC resident course. My tentative report date to Fort Leavenworth Kansas was 4 January 2013 according to the Request for Orders (RFO) email that I received from my branch. Although I had high aspirations of attending CGSC, the timing of this move was not the way I had personally planned the next couple of years of my military career. I had just took command in May of 2012 of the Ranger Support Company (RSC) of 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, a position that I had worked very hard to obtain. Additional, I was preparing for a combat deployment as commander of the RSC. Having previously deploying twice with the 3rd Ranger Battalion in a staff position, this depl...
