Middle School Technology Advancement

While I grew up in the 2000’s, there were a lot of changes and developments in society. However, technology made the largest advancement. I noticed these advancements while going through school. In elementary school, we only had non portable computers that could only be accessed in the computer labs. However, when I got closer to middle school laptops were becoming more popular and the Ipad came out. Once I got to high school, there were new advancements with computers, Ipads, and phones and new technologies were becoming available. Technology has been evolving for many years and continues to evolve as a large part of society. When I was in elementary school technology was a newer concept. There was no such thing as an Ipad, Alexa, or hover-board. We had computers but, they were all non portable and had to be used in the computer lab. Students were taken to the computer labs by their teachers, when needed, and would only be allowed a certain amount of time on the computers. We still had computer labs. However, these computer labs were portable and we used laptops instead of desktop computers. Students still had to share these computers and were not allowed to take them home. Also, at the beginning of middle school I acquired a smartphone. Although I had a smartphone, the only apps I used were texting, calling, and the occasional game. Some apps such as Facebook and Twitter had come out, but were not yet popular. To continue, my family purchased an Ipad while I was in middle school. Our Ipad was a first generation, this meant it did not have a camera, Siri, or any of the newer technological advances. We mainly used it to play games, listen to music, and to watch movies while on long car rides. However, my parents limited the amount of time my sisters and I were allowed to be on the Ipad and our
