Microcurrent Therapy is an exceptional way to help heal the body, namely soft tissues. It is also an effective way to relieve pain within the body. The therapy utilizes very small amounts of current to produce signals that replicate those occurring in the body naturally. This current is very small and is almost unnoticeable to the patient.
This is a great therapy if there is a spasm in a back or neck muscle. It works well in relaxing the muscle and allowing it to return to its normal state rather quickly. Short therapy sessions are excellent at facilitating healing from acute and chronic

One of the rational to this problem is the size of the surgical tools that are million times bigger compared to a single cell. In 1959, Richard Feynman, an engineer, proposed a solution for this problem by suggesting the idea of nanoscale surgical tools for more accurate diagnosis and assessment. Today, Feynman’s initiative is being achieved and many microscopic tools have already been developed for greater precision and faster healing; nanoscale tweezers, microscopic scalpels and nanoparticles.

Derived from several ancient healing practices, therapeutic touch is based on the theory of human energy fields - every person has an energy field that surrounds the entire body. During therapeutic touch treatment, practitioners use their hands, without actually touching the person, to re-establish a healthy energy flow. Therapeutic touch seeks to restore balance within the body while also stimulating the patient's own healing response. The practice of therapeutic touch is used worldwide in thousands of hospitals, clinics, and private practices. It is an easily learned, successful complement to other healing programs.
Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) was first developed in 1938. It has a history of abuse, exploited as a means of punishing or controlling people in mental hospitals, consequently ECT had poor reputation with negative depictions, but since then it has drastically improved with confirmed effectiveness. Despite the improvement in techniques, the use of ECT continues to decline since the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE,2003) states that it should only be administered to severely depressed patients for whom psychotherapy and medication have proved ineffective or when the condition is considered potentially life threatening. For example, when there is a risk of suicide or risk to others because ECT has much quicker results than any other forms of treatment for depression. Overall, the aim of this PowerPoint is to provide information on how ECT is administered, how or why it works, benefits, side effects, appropriateness and effectiveness.
Pain Relief – Causes of acute and/or chronic back pain may include weak stomach and/or back muscles, poor posture, spinal misalignment, and the force of compression caused by gravity. Inversion therapy is used like traction to relieve pressure on the discs and elongate the spine, which reduces the pressure on nerve roots, discs, and ligaments. All that relates to lessening back and neck pain. Sometimes those tense muscles create painful muscle spasms, which are also temporarily relieved by inversion therapy.
The Atomic Energy of Canada Limited (AECL) created the Therac-25 radiation therapy machine (Death and Denial). The major innovation of this machine is that it was much more computer-controlled than the previous machines of its kind. This enabled technicians to spend less time setting up the machine and more time working directly with patients. The reduced setup time also increased the number of patients that were able to be treated in one day (ComputingCases). Patients undergoing treatment from the Therac-25 are in communication with the machine operator (located in a separate room) through AV monitors (Death and Denial).
Reflexology is the theory that the human body can be healed from disease or imbalance through pressure to specific points on the hands, feet, and ears (http://www.doubleclickd.com/reflexology.html). This alternative form of healing is doubted by many, although there are studies that support its theory.
It is used for the treatment of arthritis and also for treating the back pain, shoulder pain and knee pain.
Massage Therapy The practice of massage therapy is rapidly growing in the United States. It has numerous benefits to offer and is becoming more widely accepted as a medical practice by doctors and the general public. Massage is defined as: …the systematic manual or mechanical manipulations of the soft tissues of the body by such movements as rubbing, kneading, pressing, rolling, slapping, and tapping, for therapeutic purposes such as promoting circulation of the blood and lymph, relaxation of muscles, relief from pain, restoration of metabolic balance, and other benefits both physical and mental (Beck 3). There is much historical evidence to indicate that massage is one of the earliest remedies for pain relief and for the restoration of a healthy body.
The first type is Swedish, this is the most common type of massage, to relax and energize you. Swedish massage therapy goes beyond relaxation. Swedish massage is exceptionally beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, improving circulation and flexibility while easing tension. A few techniques within a Swedish massage is circular pressure applied by the hands and palms, firm kneading, bending and stretching. Before and during your Swedish massage session, communication is encouraged with your professional massage therapist so that your massage is customized to your specific needs. The second type is Deep tissue, this is for muscle damage from an injury, such as whiplash or back strain. A deep tissue massage is very similar to Swedish massage, but the deeper pressure is beneficial in releasing chronic muscle tension. The focus of deep tissue massage is the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia. The third is Sports massage, this helps prevent athletic injury, keep the body flexible and help recovery. A sports massage is geared toward athletes of every kind, from world-class professionals to weekend joggers. When performing a sports massage they are focused on areas of the body that are overused and stressed from repetitive and often aggressive movements. The sport massage helps athletes by reducing fatigue, it improves endurance, helps prevent injuries and helps with flexibility.
Gains will be individual but the general view is that it can help lessen stress and tension and promote relaxation. Reflexology is tailored to the individual where the practitioner looks at the person as a whole. Lifestyle and environmental factors are also considered. (www.aor, 2015) Reflexology can be used alongside traditional medical treatment but never as an alternative. It is a very safe, natural and non-invasive technique and can be used on any age group.
...reacted to the electrical stimulation. By the 20th Century, doctors used this technology in an experimental treatment of the skin, bone and muscle growth, and healing wounds (according to the Journal of the Advancement in Medicine).

Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a form of helping an individual understand what their needs are. Solution-Focused questioning are “questions that are focused on quickly identifying what behaviors have worked in the client’s life, determining where the client wants to be in the future, and helping the client get to his or her desired goals” (Neukrug, 2017, P. 223).
