Compare and contrast the different types of metric tools (e.g., surveys, chart review, etc) that can be used to collect information. Include in your discussion the role of technology in metric tool selection and use (e.g., online survey software vs. paper and pencil collection).
The advances in technology have provided a number of ways to collect and interpret data in regards to scientific research. According to Cope (2014) using paper and pencil surveys is the tried and true method of collecting data; However, technology is quickly becoming a popular and at times a more efficient way to collect data. The use of technology allows interpreting data to become simpler, allows the researcher to reach a larger sample group and quicker compared

The α coefficient is scored from 0-1. This particular tool reliability was reported at .91 therefore it has an excellent internal consistency.
Describe why it is necessary to code the collected data prior to statistical analysis. Provide an example of coding translation for one of the demographic data points listed in the case study.
According to Reading Craze (n.d.) a code is a short word, phrase, number or numbers describing the meaning and context of the whole sentence, phrase or paragraph. Coding allows the process of data analysis to be simplified. Example of coding translation in reference to case study:
Data Point #1 - (Column B - Fatigue)
Description of data point: Fatigue
How confident are you that you can keep the fatigue caused by your disease from interfering with the things you want to do?
Coding translation for data point:
Column B- Fatigue

A strategic planning process is developed from a SWOT analysis (Harrison, 2010). When a nurse begins to plan strategically, this entails organization, adjustment and management to strengthen operations within the healthcare organization (Nelson-Brantley & Ford, 2017). Due to an ever-changing environment within a health

Codes, on their surface, reveal little. While they may take the form of numbers, letters, bytes, or symbols, the primary goal of most codes is either to conceal or condense information. In the context of codebreaking, the codes that pique the most interest are, of course, the ones that hide a message from unauthorized eavesdroppers. The role of the codebreaker is not always the honest one, for it is his/her job to undo the careful manipulations of the sender to uncover, without the key for the lock, what the message contains. To do this, he/she must rely on intuition, on reasoning, and sometimes on “luck,” to get his/her way.
Today the use of technology has become embedded into our daily lives. Most of western civilization has access to a piece of technology at any given point of time. In recent years, technology has started to play a significant role in the area of research. Quantitative research was quickly adapted and aided by technology due to the use of number variables, but the same was not true for qualitative research. In recent years, qualitative research was revolutionized by Qualitative Data Analysis (QDA) software. Although, QDA software has a great deal of positive aspect, there are drawbacks in the utilization.
For nursing, research has played a major role in the way clinical practice is done. Research has allowed nurses to provide appropriate care to patients. It allows them to perform their job by providing them the tools and information they need in order to make the decisions on the concerns for caring the patient (Polit & Beck, 2006). Moreover, research can also take focus on the workers themselves in order to improve the practice both on a professional and personal level. An example of a study conducted by King, Vidourek, and Schweibert of University of Cincinnati created a study to determine if there is a correlation between ...
They improve our comprehension of a phenomenon from the viewpoint of the people experiencing it. It allows nurses to explore the depth, richness, and complexity inherent in the lives of human beings(Broader, 2010). All research includes data collection, analyzing results and outcomes. Describes the how and the why. Qualitative allows the nurses to have clinical insight and empathy. They learn what it feels like in a given situation, and the way patients see their illness. This cues the nurse to pay attention to new signals from the patient, make sense of specific behaviors and provide support and contributes to patient status or progress. Nurses can share qualitative findings directly with clients, with a research-based perspective on what the patient is experiencing and how others have described the experience. Nurses sharing qualitative results with clients and further advice on the steps they should consider is achieved (Miller,

Focusing on surveys and questionnaires, and quantitative research methods, it varies on the person getting questioned as to which method they prefer. Some individuals may prefer to fill in a questionnaire, as it is quick and simple for them, whereas someone else would rather have a face-to-face interview because they may find questionnaires to complicated. Giving people the choice gives the more chance of getting a response overall. It is important that the researchers are aware of the advantages and disadvantages because they will then be aware of what method to use, and will know what method is best to use. It is also an advantage to work with experienced researchers in order to find out the best results.
Data Collection and Analysis Questionnaire The research was carried out on both quantitative and qualitative approaches. It began with a quantitative approach—questionnaire. Bryman and Bell (2003) asserted that mail or postal questionnaires are the most popular forms of questionnaires. Another form—self-completion questionnaire—was also common because of the overlap with postal questionnaire to some extent.
Establishing metrics is crucial to any organization, especially in technology related company projects. Metrics permit organizations to measure its performance against industry sectors to determine how well the company is doing. Furthermore, metrics allow organizations to evaluate and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of its processes. Metrics are designated in different categories. The categories identified in this document include output, in-process, and people. (Duris 2003) The organization must first determine exactly what the company is trying to accomplish or determine. Metrics are then identified based on what is relative to the subject matter. Finally, metrics are verified when tracking progress against previous records or a company given standards or goals.

Threats to the quality of the study were monitored by the using three strategies: (1) triangulation, (2) member checking and (3) peer debriefing.

Data collection is a process by which you receive useful information. It is an important aspect of any type of research, as inaccurate data can alter the results of a study and lead to false hypothesis and interpretations. The approach the researcher utilizes to collect data depends on the nature of the study, the study design, and the availability of time, money and personnel. In addition, it is important for the researcher to determine whether the study is intended to produce qualitative or quantitative information.
Project management involves all activities that encompass scheduling, planning, and controlling projects. A successful project manager ensure that an organization’s resources are being used both efficiently and effectively. Most projects need to be uniquely developed require a sense of customization and the ability to adapt to any posed challenges. The scope of effective project management includes defining what the project is and what is being expected to be accomplished. Projects are imposed to fulfill a certain need and project managers must have the ability to create the proper definition. Goals and the means used to attain those goals have to be clearly stated. Project Managers must also have the ability to plan
