Many people young and old face many challenges one of many challenge are mental challenges, though they may not look like it. One type of challenges is mental challenges. There are several types mental challenges people go through such as depression and Autism. Many don’t know how to deal with mental challenges or what it is. Knowing what mental challenges are, what types there are, and how to deal with them can be very helpful. Mental challenge is defined as any disease or condition affecting the brain that influences the way a person thinks, feels, behaves and/or relates to others and to his or her surroundings. When you think of mental disabilities you usually think about Autism or special education students, but those are just two of the very common challenges people go through. For example, Autism as mentioned before is a mental challenges so many have.
Autism is a neurodevelopmental disorder. It isn’t a learning disability Autism conditions are different for everyone. A form of Autism is Asperger syndrome which people may have an above average intelligence. They are challenged when it comes to understanding and processing a language. One in a hundred people have Autism. Autism impacts the way you communicate with others. People with Autism sometimes lack sensitivity they may look uninterested in people or anything. They have trouble interacting with others because of not understanding other emotions. They also have trouble participating or starting conversation. People with Autism talk about things they are interested in to people who might not be interest in hearing about it and they fail to notice non-verbal hints. They like to have the same daily routine so they know what is going to happen each day because the world seems confusing to them. Having Autism can make it difficult to wash themselves, cook a meal or learning depending on the person. have. Depression causes you mental challenges. Depression is defined as intense feelings of sadness. When you are depressed you lose interest in things you enjoy. It is treatable and people aren’t born depressed, but if you’re family has a history of bring depresses then you could also become depressed. Being depressed can make you do or think things you never thought you would. But not in a positive way. Most people going through depression don’t even know that they are depressed and many overlook the physical signs of depression. For example, a friend of mine said she didn’t realize that she was depressed until she started hating her husband and kids. Fortunately she got the help she needed to get back to her normal self. Depression can be caused by a number of things like things that are happening now and in the past or lack of social support. Women are twice more likely to go through depression than men. Depression causes physical problems from heart to immune system. You become more sensitive to pain. There are many types if depressions like mild and major depression and Post-natal depression just to name a few. Mild depression is depression that doesn’t have a lot of negative effect on you daily. Major depression impacts your daily life and activities. Post-natal depression is also known as ‘baby blues’ which is when you experience lack of confidence and lots of stress. It is best that you get help to deal with depression right away before you feel unmotivated to receive the help needed. There are medicines you can take for you depression and things you can do to get you on the right tract to recovery. These are just a couple out of the many forms of mental challenges people go through. It’s very important to know what types of mental challenges there are in case you go through it or a family member does then you’ll know what to expect and how to deal with it.

According to thefreedictionary.com mental health is “a state of emotional and psychological well-being in which an individual is able to use his or her cognitive and emotional capabilities, function in society, and meet the ordinary demands of everyday life”.
