Memorable Love Songs The male and female with dreams of their heart’s desire; the man and woman with memories of their spouse; the mother with thoughts of her daughter far away in college; these people and a great many others, the music world recognizes and seeks to touch. They make songs of love the most popular and most listened to. In addition to being a subject with endless representation, love in one aspect or another affects everyone. "Somewhere Out There" from the classical animation "A n American Tale" and Selena’s "Dreaming of You," two particularly inspirational love songs, are products of music that have successfully achieved a quiet lasting popularity. With the music industry also taking to the World Wide Web, these song lyrics and melodies are now easily found anywhere there might be a computer. The songs soothing, slumberous rhythm wraps their world of listeners--the young and old, man and woman, hard rock and contemporary fans--in a cloak of content. Instead of saddening, depress ing, or infuriating, the soft melodies and gentle lyrics harmonize to awaken the sense of hope in the hearts, the possibility of love, and the comforting knowledge that we are not lonely souls. Two hearts far apart are thinking of one another in "Somewhere Out There." Each holds on to the belief that life will bring them back together and guide them to their dreams. This song reassures us that in a world so vast and separated, people can be brought together by love and faith. Similarly in theme, "Dreaming of You" expresses that life can be an unexpected fairytale in which our dreams can and do come true. It paints a picture of a female/male night after night drea ming about the person she/he loves; longing, waiting for the courage to... ... middle of paper ... ...love does come true. To the listeners that do not have someone in their heart, "Dreaming of You" is a beautiful song that still touches the senses. Music can move a person in incredible ways, whether by healing, inspiring, saddening, or even angering. But when a song touches in a positive way it imprints a lasting memory of itself in the heart and soul. That might explain why some of the most classic and popular songs through the centuries are love songs. The creative ocean of love lyrics and melodies is probably as vast as a Universe and among the shining stars are two humbling songs that will continue to move the emotions. "Somewhere out there" and "Dreaming of you" are two musical creations that have planted a lasting impression in many people’s heart. http://www.webmistris.com/somewhereoutthere.html http://www.angelfire.com/ma2/Gem/dreamingofyou.html
Although the lyrics have nothing to do with what I feel for this song (it is a romantic song), this was a song that I heard throughout my childhood and it became a big part of my life since then. 2.
The article “ In Defense of “Trap Queen” as our generation’s Greatest Love Song” by Hanif Abdurraqib, who is a poet, essayist, and cultural critic from Columbus, Ohio, writes about todays modern “love song’s” and their meanings. Hanif believes that todays modern generation love songs are not the same as they once were, because the meaning of love has evolved over time. Love songs have a different kind of passion then the once did, they have evolved the passion of love towards each other to a whole different level of passion. The meaning of a love song has changed its not all about only love towards someone, its changed to the love for the life style they live with the success they 've made to be where they are. This life style involving money, drugs. and sex, which is very blunt about how they describe it, is what “love” is to them and the young crowd
The majority of children cannot wait to become a grown up. Too late they realize that growing older isn’t as glamourous as they thought. People are always taught to learn from our mistakes, but what if some mistakes take too long to realize? Many people learn life’s lessons too late. Children and adults are taught through fairy tales, songs, books, television shows, and movies lessons on how to live life and avoid mistakes. Songs and music are important because they connect to emotions. They project images into people’s minds through the lyrics, and the song itself can have a special meaning and emotion to different people.

Valerie Bettis created the solo dance, The Desperate Heart, in 1943. The dance was created with a dramatic touch, depicting the feeling of lost love. Bettis set this piece with the objective of analyzing lost love in a back and forth matter. This goal was achieved throughout Bettis’ work with the help of music, lighting, attire, vocals, imagery, and choreography. The vocals at the beginning and end of the dance are a poem written by John Malcom Brinnin also named The Desperate Heart. My analysis is based off of Bettis’ solo performed by Brook Notary at a concert on June 11, 1993.

What does it take for a team to be the greatest in the history of the NBA? Some will say that the 2016 Golden State Warriors are the greatest team because they now hold the record for most wins in the regular season. Others will argue that the 96’ Chicago Bulls are the greatest because they once broke that very same record but the key difference is the Bulls were named NBA champs and the Warriors were not. However, I believe the Bulls are better for a several of reasons such as, they had stronger competition, their star player Michael Jordan was better than Stephen Curry, and lastly the legacy that the Bulls left is untouchable.

Pip, in Great Expectations by Charles Dickens, is an idealist. Whenever he envisions something greater than what he already has, he passionately desires to obtain the improvement and better himself. In the Victorian Era, as an underprivileged orphan though, dreams are often easier dreamt than accomplished. Pip however, has an instinctive ambitious drive. His unstoppable willpower, plus the benefit of a benefactor, elevates him from the bottom, to the top of the social, educational, and moral food chain in the Victorian Era.
Edgar Allan Poe was a literary genius of his time. His works may seem eccentric but beneath the words and stories lies a solemn, alone boy whose only way of comfort and relief was through his pen. Of the critical reviews I have studied pertaining to Poe, never has such a varied difference of opinions been presented or suggested towards a writer. It is thought that his life had a major influence on his writing and by reading many of his pieces I agree with that statement.
